bright lights relay

Does anyone know where the bright lights relay is located in a 1981 Excella motor home?

I replaced both the light switch on the dash, and the foot switch with no effect.

The problem is that the regular light works fine, but when I press the foot switch to activate the brights, all the lights come on for a few seconds- say 10 seconds, then they all are intermittent random flashing, all 4 at the same time flash together. It is like it is right on the edge of a failing relay or something. I traced the wires and they enter the large loom behind the fuse panel under the dash, but then head out of the firewall. I tried moving wires to see if it is a loose wire, but that has not effect.

also, does anyone know what these 2 components are for circled in red?( if photo attached.

Thanks for your help.

Without a better look, the one on the left looks like a circuit breaker, and the one on the right looks like a dual battery isolator. http://autobattery.batteries-shops.c...bay@1/256.html

This is a STUPID comment on my part - but are the lights hooked up somehow to the turn signal flasher unit? I told you it was stupid!!! (I have seen this done before!)

bright lights relay

I tend to agree with the circuit breaker comment.

I am thinking the bright light circuit is shorted out somewhere causing the breaker to open and close.

Vehicles that have a foot dimmer switch normally do not use a high beam relay.

There is a chance that the breaker is just bad, but most likely it will be a short.

I would change the breaker first, and then check for a short immediately behind the lights and trace back to the dimmer switch.

The short will be somewhere between the dimmer switch and the headlights.

By the way, that is a circuit breaker circled in red, but it is not a headlight circuit breaker.

It will be a major supply or charging breaker for the chassis or house circuit.
