anyone use the Long, oil filter, or twin remote
After all the talk of Heat and issues witht the Starter ?
I got to looking at the location of the Oil filter, someone placed a heat shield on Mine so I sanded it down and re painted with High heat Grill, paint when I replaced the filter with a Wix unit.
I got to thinking of a remote unit mounted away from the headers in cooler air and Summit and others offer Twin units that might also help.
More Oil, Cooler with more air flow.
Anyone do something like this ???

I've used the longer filter, both on our TV and on several friends' motor homes. Our TV has an in-radiator oil cooler, and I see no reason why you couldn't use an oil cooler kit on your motor home.

I have mounted my filter under the driver seat for additional cooling and ease of access.
One picture shows the adapter and the tight access of the old filter and the other shows the new mount.

I have the Amsoil kit that includes stock and bypass filters, both spin on, on base plate mounted under radiator area on our 345 w/454. The 'stock' is just that and the bypass is almost 1 1/2 the size.
I'll try to find the Amsoil kit part #'s if anyone is interested.

Howie, do the hoses restrict the changing of your Starter Motor ?

No This was a 6.5 diesel and the original filter position was on the drivers side and the starter on the passenger side. The reason for the change was for ease of access without draining oil all over the front drive shat U joint.
That engine has an after market intercooler and factory oil cooler.
