Just called Jill, the campground host, to confirm reservations. She didn't have her book with her so I don't know my site #. Looking forward to seeing the moho's, including those under reconstruction. There was an letter in Airstream Life asking about Classic MOHOs a while back. AS Life said they were thinking about doing an article in the future. I would like to photograph any moho that wants to be famous and submit to AS Life. I will be sending before & after photos of my own as well. If you have any before photos you would like me to submit, please bring them. I will be able to scan & return to you the same day. You can also send them to me via e-mail, or on a disc if that's easier.
Ricky

MoHo in May

For our small group, Woodja has decided to cook in the cast iron camp stove
a little breakfast for all on Sat morning. Look forward to my atempt at a campfire inspired potatoe, sausage & egg dish that should feed us all.
Maybe someone could bring some bread or toast--------
Going to be a great weekend!

I plan on showing up for a few hours today. Can't drive the Argosy cause there's no motor or front wheels and can't drive the Triumph because it's not water tight (were they ever?!) so will be driving my truck. Should be there late morning.

I just mapped that. It didn't immediately pop into my mind, but we drove through there last fall on our way to St Jo's State Park. I remember Panama City being a really cool place because it has beach front property but there's really not much for miles around. We didn't look into campgrounds because we already had res. at St Jo's.

Not promising that we could make it, but a very good place to target nonetheless.

Great times, Great people, & Great idea's

Well, Finally got back to Memphis. Work called early this am before I was able to leave the hotel (which if anyone knows me is EARLY)... So after a few hours on the phone working problems outs....

Anyway, What a great get together. Had 3 MoHo's in attendance and two owners (sans moho). The 3 that made it were two 310's and a 345! Brad and I showed up with out due to the fact that neither were "ready" (aka in parts in some garage) I would like to say that at least Brad has his in his garage, unlike me who has to pay someone to take it apart and leave it scattered around!

Got some awesome ideas! I think we have a far better idea of where we are going now and what we want to do! First we are definately ditching the couch and getting theater seats (thanks 3 Dog Nite!), We are going to go with the real bambo wood floors (thanks cmadmaxman!) We are also going to go with the rear twins that we saw in Woodja's back at the Stone Mountain rally & confirmed looking at cmadmaxman's. Now we just have to stop camping in the trailer long enough to work on the MoHo!!

A special thanks to everyone for feeding and taking care of me when I was there!

When I got to the hotel last night, I was out like a light!

Think we should do an Elvis Rally here in Memphis?

Here is a group shot:

I'm glad I made it to the Rally! It was nice to meet everyone in person and spend a little time snooping through their motorhomes

Got some new ideas and learned a few things!

Hopefully by this time next year I'll be able to drive the Argosy to the Rally. Lots of if's to deal with but one can hope

Brad

Panama city, Pensacola, back at Crossville....... Trying to find the best place to get the largest concentration of folks coming. Was also thinking about holing it a little late so folks with kids could attend as well. Like MoHo's in May held in June.

I don't have any knowledge of campgrounds on the Gulf Coast sooo.......

Thanks for the later/kids thought. We'd like to come (and are in that kids-in-school boat). Nevertheless, I know the draw for the ocean, especially the Gulf. Who knows what a year from now will bring, too. The Argosy might be in a major teardown (no indication of that now, but you never know). I might have spent a lot of money on something for the house / family and not have the dough for gas to wherever the rally is. So, by all means pick a place and time where the greatest number can show up.

Of course, for me June-mid August works best or the week of Good Friday which the kids typically have off of school. As much as I love the ocean, somewhere in the mid-states helps, too. I have never been to the Crossville, so maybe that's good again. It's been a while since I've been to Asheville, NC. I'd love to spend some time in the Memphis area, although touring downtown with the moho might present some issues. The Highland Haven AS park in VA is beautiful, too. Not much to do in the area, though. Just my ramblings...
