Very cool. Do you have a preference as far as time of year? I some work commitments that will most likely take late OCT/early Nov out of the picture. So spring, early summer or late summer are good.

A few years ago I showed up with my self propelled trailer at an Airstream Rally at Casini Ranch in Northern California.
I was the hit of the rally! Eventually, every year afterwards, there seemed to be an extra moho showing up until the last one I went to, there were seven! Excluding the engine compartment, the interiors are relativley the same, and I got many ideas from the trailers.

What time of year is good from Apr - Oct in Nashville? Stuff to do and fine weather etc.

Good question! I have only lived in the Memphis area 2 years and most of the time have been bogged down with work. The spring is typically the rainy time. The summer can get unbearable but August should have cooler nights. I have never been to Nashville, but I am sure it would be worth a day trip.

If you are so inclined to venture to Sarasota FL in mid Feb, the annual WWBC will be hosting the second largest meet in the US. Attended last year for the 1st time and had a good time. There were three Classic MHs and 300 + TT including a bunch of Classic models (25yrs or more). Info on the rally is on the fourms site.

We just got back into the MoHo Stream of things after a 4 year hiatus and we're pretty much up for anything anytime anywhere within 500 miles or so! Noted the 7 motorhome attendance earlier in the thread, that ties with the first Classic MoHo rally that was held in Mystic Springs, FL in 2002. It would be nice to beat that 10 year old record!

We are looking into going to the Stone Mountain rally in April to start the season off. Hopefully the moho will be ready to camp.....

Rally date....

I was initially looking at August, but the temps and weather look better in May: TCPC Online - WELCOME

Was thinking about the week-end of the 11th or 17th..... in May. Thoughts?

Here is the weather for August if someone would prefer that more: Average Weather In August For Nashville, Tennessee, USA - WeatherSpark

We had discussed going to the Airstream campground south of Nashville, TN: TCPC Online - WELCOME

From the site:
"Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground (TCPC) is an exclusive Airstream-only campground located on the Cumberland Plateau just south of Crossville, TN. Members enjoy 376 acres of diverse terrain, walking trails, a seven acre lake, a 5,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, and paved interior roads."

Here is the Lat/Long: 35.753478,-85.090166
Quite difficult to find on google with out it. However it notes on the website NOT to use GPS to get the camp due to the tendency to take you via unimproved roads!

Since both of us still work full time We would drive up Friday and back Sunday. It is about a 6 hr drive for us. The location does seem to be centrally located between those who responded.

So Who is up for it and should I call and see if they can set a few site aside?

That's near my birth home of Oak Ridge, a very nice area and only 200 miles for us! May is good for us, not critical which weekend. You can count on us to show.

Hmm, there is a remote chance I might be able to make it with the Arogsy. At most it would be running with brakes, no interior to speak of and definitely wouldn't be pretty looking

But Crossville TN is only 150 miles from me. Definitely don't count on me being there but it gives me a target for getting the motor in and running

Dave,

Apparently you haven't seen pictures of my self propelled (well almost anyway) aluminum tent

You might change your mind once you see a picture of it

Brad

The campground is at exit 1 on Interstate 24 I would certainly come if it were there Since I live close by would be fun to meet other Airstreamers

Brad,

I drove a 30 year old Volvo 122S wagon as a daily driver for years since it was classic. Ugly, but classic! Heck I would like to see the guy in the you tube video with just the chassis and lawn chair show up! Now that is styling. An if I had it, I don't know if I would put the shell back on!

Bfrank: It would be awesome if you attended as well. I guess I should nail a date down. Put it on the calendar and count how many we may have already.
