A classic motorhome first

Its not hard to find an old airstream trailer converted to use as a lunch wagon,
There is a whole line of them in Seaside Fl.

But this is the first time Ive seen a classic motorhome put to that use. I just came accross this Argosy 24' serving as a shave ice stand here on Kauai the other day. It was shipped from Oregon for this second life.

The girls working in it say they get lots of comments about it from customers.

I've read here that some folks feel it's a shame and a waste to repurpose the old rigs into lunch wagons like this.
But better for them to have a second life than to rot in some field someplace.
And in this case it seems to bring pleasure to many, there in its current life.

What say you, is this a sacrelidge using old airstreams this way?

Cheers Richard

As long as it's on the road in good shape!

I only think it's a shame if
1. It was in pristine tine capsule condition to start with
2. They trash it in the process of converting and it ends up in a junkyard

I'm not sure of its history, but it does seem to be in running condition.
Nice shell, mostly gutted inside to funtion as the shave ice stand. The cab area is intact.
Its parked in down town Kapaa along with a couple of other lunch wagons.
And is clearly the star of the show there.
The girls working in it tell me that people love seeing it there.

I'm thinking this rig has settled into a retirement that I could aspire to
Relaxing in a cool little Hawaiian town, nice little income, being the working place of sweet young ladies, plenty of folks coming up to admire it and enjoy whats on offer.
Oh yeah, the good life. 😃

Cheers Richard

Here is another look at it

Airstreams seem to have a big place in your soul Mr Bibbs.
Do you really own threes 70s era models.

Would love to see that lineup.

Cheers Richard
