The new 10 ton jack stands came in yesterday, and I now have the Hydro-Max removed and ready to send out for repair. I will finish jacking the 370LE up and remove the fuel tank and transmission. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

I have been working the last few weeks on the work truck, I’ve got it half way painted and the winter in closing in, should be finished this weekend (REALLY???).....I got the new Splendide washer/dryer......damaged of coarse, not on the sides, not on the back, not on the bottom.....but right in the front below the door. Well, I ordered from PPL this time, you can actually talk to them, not like the idiots who run the store from their parents living room while they’re sitting there in their underwear called RV Parts Country in Kentucky. The hot water heater that I ordered for Shepherd57 is still sitting on my loading dock cause they sent the wrong one since September. Well, PPL said they are sending a replacement out right away....I will let everyone know how their service is. In any event the washer/dryer is going to be installed in the rear closet, plumbing is already there, and the drain can be installed right into the shower through a 4” polished brass tub spout. Will show detailed photos of the install as I go along. The highly modified E4OD is ready to ship to me from Florida, I’m just waiting on the hydro-max to come back from the rebuilder first before I pull the tranny so I can test the brake system, Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Still waiting on the replacement washer/dryer from PPL, no news yet......on a positive note my new transmission passed all the grueling dyno tests I had them put it threw before they ship it to me from Florida next Tuesday. Regards, Bob Click image for larger version

Even better news.....the hydro-max has returned.....so I can re-install it on Sunday and if all goes well with the brake system, I’ll yank the transmission and fuel tank out and get going on with this project. Regards, Bob

Yank the fuel tank? Thought you were staying gas for another year?

I picked up the hydro-max, brake fluid(DOT5), P/S fluid and some other odds and ends for Sunday’s work, hoping that the brake situation is finally resolved and I can move forward with the removal of the transmission/fuel tank/driveshaft etc. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

DOT 5 or DOT 5.1? Just curious if you are going to a silicone fluid.

So my understanding is DOT 5 is silicone based and not compatible with the normal glycol based fluids. Did you completely drain and flush the old fluid from all lines and components when you made the change? I probably missed it in your posts. You usually don't do anything half way so I guess you changed the calipers, master cylinder, etc. and so on. The DOT 5 fluid has a higher temperature rating which is quite important. I had an episode of overheating the brakes and hence boiling the fluid. I can tell you it was hair raising to say the least. I made the move to DOT 4 at that time when replacing my calipers.

Complete flush job last year....about a gallon, did not replace the calipers, just rebuilt the master cylinder last week while the Hydro-Max was out for repair. The brakes get real hot on the 370LE as they do on the work truck. I noticed less brake fade, less squeaking, I believe that the boiling point on the DOT 5 is 500 degrees. Regards, Bob

Hydro-Max reinstalled ! Got sidetracked and had to replace the water pump in the YukonXL.....It let loose on me on the drive home Thursday night in the snow. Also put the new nokian tires (studded) on the volt this afternoon as well, we have our snow early this year ! The 370LE brakes are all bled out now all I have to do is get a low pressure return line tomorrow and I can start it up and hopefully finish the brake job.....is it ever done ??? Regards, Bob

The brakes are all bled out, started it up this morning, bled the power steering out and wala the Hydro-Max works exactly as it should with no leaks ! Road test will not be until May, 2019. The new transmission left Florida today, I should have it next week. I will be pullling the C6 out as well as the driveshafts and the gas tank. Good news from PPL...it appears my replacement washer/dryer has been sitting in Albany for a week since the 10th, so I will keep my fingers crossed and pick it up tomorrow morning. I hope to have the dashboard out completely by the end of December. Regards, Bob

First....I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving ! (You to Dean). I want to take a moment to thank my good friends at PPL motor homes a “job well done” statement......you have to earn that from me. Unlike the other company that sells RV parts while they’re sitting in their parents living room in their underwear......When I received my WD2100XC it was damaged. I sent them pictures and they sent out a replacement right away. I want to thank the customer service department especially Joni and Kristina and they will be receiving 100% of my business from now on. Unlike the other company you can actually speak to someone. On I side note the hot water heater that I ordered from the other company for “Shephard57” which the incorrect one was received still sits on my loading dock for them to pick up since September.

370 LE start to finish.....

I’m not going to argue on the other guy’s thread, even though he’s the one who brought up politics..... but the fact is, there is no doubt that for decades our forests have been mismanaged. This is true whether a person believes the blather about AGW or not. #JustSayin

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
