I have the bathroom wall all marked out now for the piano hinge swinging door. This will add quite a bit of room to the bathroom area. I am going to remove the wall and take it to my wood guy for an exact cut on his table saw. I am planning on using a filler panel to hid the cavity between the medicine cabinet and bedroom wall. In addition to rebuilding the "throne" I am going to delete the carpeting around the toilet and tile the throne (easier cleaning). On a sad note I am going to have to put my beloved "Hanns" down very soon......he is seeing his last days. regards, Bob Click image for larger version

Watching closely Bob.
So sad to hear about your Doggy. It’s the ultimate act of love, but figuring out when it’s time if they are suffering is the hardest call.

Sorry to hear about the pup. We have started giving our old lab/shepherd mix a daily dose of Galliprant. It seems to make it a little easier for her to get around. Every once in awhile I tell myself “no more dogs”, but I never listen.

370 LE start to finish.....

I have sworn off dogs so many times, for so many heartbreaking reasons and yet I always seem to find another dog or two or three or more to break that oath.

It’s so darn hard falling so deep in love with a relatively short-lived individual, and dealing with the loss. It’s totally illogical, but when you gaze into these eyes, you just have to deal with what is coming...at the far end of their lives.

This is just one of our current rescue pups. How can you not love that fuzzy face? That little stuck-out tongue is how he lets you know he is so, so, so happy to be with you... When my pups find a willing lap, they have a great, happy sigh when they get comfortable and put their head down to nap.

I have the new air pressure guage all installed and hooked up now...looks original, plus accurate. The original parking brake control will be replaced with a new Haladex controller mounted in the same location. The bathroom is now completely gutted, time to rebuild the throne....I'm going to use a single sheet of 3/4" plywood to make up the whole toilet support including the wood that goes underneath the vanity....wonder why they put carpet under there ??? Everything in the bathroom was a hoge poge of small pieces put together. This was the last cavity of the motor home that I have not been able to see.....I now have about 150 rivets extra that I have found in the various cavities that I have opened up !

For all interested, this is what the throne look like re-assembled outside the motor home on the floor. This would be for the 325, 345, and the 370 series....I'm not sure about the others but I'm sure they are similar. It's obvious to me that the only item holding the toilet up in the air was the drain pipe. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Man, with that visual of non support stuck in my head, I'm pretty sure my reading time will be greatly diminished.

I took all my measurements for the bathroom re-do down to my wood guy yesterday. Also moving forward on the interior re-carpet and re-upholstery. finished up the tag axle yesterday, new bearings, races, seals and brakes. Another project of interest to me will be the installation of tank heaters and dump valve heaters.....moving along slowwwwly.........Regards, Bob

Bob

Be sure to tell your wood guy that any cabinet should be Dominoed face frame with no backs, limited gables made out of Baltic birch and the top, Baltic birch substrate with 1/4" thick solid surface OR solid core laminate if you prefer.

Try to keep the weight down as much as possible but Dominoes, face frame and the use of Baltic birch gives it incredible strength and screw retention.

Cheers

The bathroom wood is all done so I can start to put that all back together, I am trying to decide on the floor covering under the toilet (JOHN), no pun intended (Shepard57), it will definitely not be carpet, I would like to tile, but I am worried of cracking during those high speed off road maneuvers that I am constantly accused of doing.....maybe linoleum if I can find something that doesn't look cheap. I would kind of like a slate look....good God someone shoot me, I'm a mess, LOL Regards, Bob

If I were you I'd either use the Expressions flooring that is in John's rig; 10mm PVC, with segmented core for at least a bit of insulated value, or a good Luxury Vinyl Planking, (LVP), or tile, (LVT).
The new stuff is incredible for looking like slate, or wood. I would get a glue down, flexible, non click together flooring. Cuts with an utility knife, waterproof, tough and easily replaced if a plank gets damaged.

Google XL flooring flexplank flooring; it's what we're putting in our house.

Cheers
