Another 8 hours....just on the shower door....but it's done, it clears the ADB, (new dometic ceiling AC air distribution box by an 1/8 of an inch....I guess all those measurements that I made months ago paid off. I will hopefully get the refrigerator in tonight and whatever else I do, tomorrow it's off for New York state inspection and hopefully those 2 road tests. Regards, Bob

Still cranking away, fridge all done and running, finished the trim around the shower walls and re-installed the shower exhaust fan. The grille is back on and should be ready to go tomorrow some time in the AM. I will also reinstall the rest of the dinette and make an attempt at installing the new roof electric horns in the afternoon. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Hey Bob, looks like you are hitting the home stretch on the 370, at least for this year. Shower looks awesome. I was waiting to see how you did your door. Can you post the make and model of the door you used? Every time I look at them in Lowe's or Home Depot I can never find one that will work with the thin walls we have. Seems to me the door jambs wouldn't be right. Probably my lack of imagination.

Did you line the refrigerator compartment with sheet metal for resistance to fire and water damage? I never thought of that. I'll have to incorporate that into the baffle installation project as well.

Everything looks great. You are an inspiration to us all. After Rita and I get this house built I'll have to turn my attention back to the 345 which is probably feeling neglected.

American standard on the door and thanks for the baffle suggestion, between the baffle and the fans the fridge is at 34 and the freezer is at -10. That's not metal on the fridge walls....1" foil faced styrofoam on the left or front and 2" on the right or rear

Finished 2 road tests yesterday....we are a go for Lancaster PA. next Saturday although I might be putting the rest of the interior back together when we get there. Outside temp. yesterday was 84 and the 370LE never went above 220 during the 12 mile hill at 55MPH. I still am having a problem with the door not closing....I think I am going to have to put a jack under the door and try to bend it. Thanks to Lance again on the suggestion to add the baffle behind the refrigerator, now all of the dead air space is gone and the air travels up through the rear refrigerator coils the way it was designed to. Refrigerator temp is 34 degrees and the frezzer temp is -10......never worked so good. Of coarse adding the fans to the exhaust vent and cleaning 25 years of crap out of the vent also helped I'm sure. Regards, Bob

Looking great Bob, always good when you get to a road test, even better when that goes well.

We made it to Lancaster, PA. yesterday. We took all the back roads saw a lot. Although it was a 9 hour drive, the 370LE performed flawlessly. Temperature was about 89 and towing the Volt is about the max with all the gear 3 kids and the dog. Some of the back road hills produced speeds of only 5 MPH by the time we got to the top. Either the dash AC went out or the heater control valve took a dump because the front temperature was almost unbearable. First thing on the list for November is the gear vendors overdrive. One of the tow dolly straps broke and I left my spares at home so hopefully I can have them "Red Label" me 2 more while we are here.

The stay so far in Lancaster PA has been very relaxing for us....still some small adjustments to be made on the 370LE, and they will happen over time. I did finish running a second RG6 cable through the ceiling for the DirectV in the rear bedroom, the original in the wall is shot, and I like my American Heros channel ! We have nixed our Yellowstone trip in the 396XL this summer due to volcano activity and road closures, don't want to get all the way out there only to find out we can't see what we want to see...I am taking the last week of August off and we are going to cruise Rt. 6 east to west through PA. and maybe some Ohio with the 370LE. Still trying to find the short in the directionals, got the brake lights working, have to figure out why the dash AC stopped working, replace the original electric 2 step with a 3 step which crapped out on our trip to Lancaster, seal up some seam leaks in the shower, etc, etc, etc . Will post pictures tonight, Regards, Bob

Bob:

Looking good. I really like the rearview camera - the picture is nice. But 5mph is tough - you are a stronger man then I. First trip out I had trouble going 35-40 at the top of the mountains on I77 (or was it 81), can't imagine going 5.

I am also interested in a gear vendors overdrive, but not sure they make them for my rig.

The directionals and brake lights are really kicking my ass, I'de rather be doing the diesel conversion right now, I should have this "concern" sorted out even if I have to use hand signals or drop flares out as I'm driving. We plan on filling the water tank and fuel tank on Saturday and heading out for a week through Labor Day weekend......Adirondacks and finger lakes region...,.no reservations anywhere, we're just going to go......more later, Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Since you've finished the rebuild of your 370, do you want to drop by Brad's place and help him with his Argosy? Being only half the size, the two of you should have it done in half the time; a weekend maybe. (Wink)

Have a safe trip.....
Cheers
Tony
