Bob,

So glad to hear that your Pex inventory is fully stocked. Now that you've had a chance to practice on your own, I'll drop off my 370 for a complete plumbing refit as soon as you've got shop space available!

Bob, I figured on doing it myself when I retire, but that means it will never get done!

Actually, I told Debbie that when I retire I would like to open a Victoria's Secret franchise.....that went over like a fart in church....so looks like I will be selling screwdrivers for a little longer. All is moving forward for the trip to Cooperstown, will hopefully have 3 days to collect my thoughts and plan for a 2017 Classic Motorhome Get-Together.

All systems are a go for Cooperstown. With the exception of the mis-aligned alternator/crank pulley and the radiator leak. Every morning this week before work there was something to do....you know, "It's Never Done". Hopefully all the systems that I repaired or replaced will work as expected. We all have that tool tote that we hope we never need to use, but you never know. I plan on clearing my head over the weekend and making a concrete plan of the items I will be replacing over the winter.....I know I won't be able to get it all done, but the master plan of three years worked on the 325LE so it should work on the 370LE as well. Regards, Bob

Bob - Thanks for posting your work in progress! I just took ownership of a 370LE this week and can't wait to start sorting it out. It is in great shape, but has been sitting unused for a couple of years. The previous owner is a friend's father who is now in poor health. They handed me quite a stack of receipts and books that I am still going through.

Hey John, great news.....why don't you post some pictures and tell us some history of the 370.....there were very few of these produced. Maybe you would be interested in joining us for the 2017 Classic Motor Home Get-Together.

Got to Cooperstown last night, the radiator is worse than I thought, the univolt crapped out, forgot my battery charger.....but all else is good...LOL I ran the 370LE for 30 mins this morning to charge the house batteries, you know the refrigerator will not work below 9 volts....neither will the furnace, just have to keep after the kids to leave the lights off.

ahhhhhhhh well, those items were on your list anyway so no big surprises. Sounds like an extra pair of socks and more blankets, a bag or two of ice for the fridge will get you through the weekend. At least you can charge the house batteries a bit through your isolator! We woke up to temps in the low 40s here at home today. Have fun!

A good friend of mine who used to work with me who is now selling brand X tools still comes camping with us occasionally. I broke down and asked for a ride 15 miles away to the closest Wal-Mart and bought a charger for the house batteries. It kills me because I have 3 at home plus the original uni-volt from the 325LE. But now all is well. Great relaxing day today, currently sitting around the campfire and enjoying an adult beverage.Click image for larger version

Rita and I split a bottle of wine tonight in front of a camp fire. Not the same as camping with the 345. But listening to the Owls hoot away and relaxing by the fire is just what I needed after spreading some gravel to fix pot holes in the driveway. I'll be stiff a few days but at least this winter should be better on the cars. Keep the camp fires burning Bob. Looking forward the the next Classic meet.

This one was originally in MS and later in AL before coming to GA. New engine in 2002 and new trans in 2004. From what I can tell, it has been back to Airstream at least three times for refurbishing. I have the receipts from the AL owner, but it does not look like the GA owner saved any even though I can tell they did maintain it up until maybe 2011 (based on the GA state park pass on the mirror).

Not sure what I am going to do with it, but I'm having fun so far. I spent all weekend on it getting it ready to drive home and hope to do that later this week. Replaced ignition module today and waiting on a fuel pump to come in. Only hiccup so far is I had to bypass the safety switches between the key and starter relay. Are there any starter lockouts besides the neutral switch? The Gillig schematic doesn't show any.

I'll try to upload some pictures when I get a chance.

Good morning from Cooperstown, I am happy to report that all systems with the exception of the Uni-Volt have performed well. It is 36 degrees here now, both front and rear furnaces work extremely well. The hot water heater is running rich, too much yellow flame, I have tried to adjust it but no luck, doesn't really matter cause it's coming out and being replaced anyway over the winter. Was looking at uni-volt replacements over the weekend, I am going to replace it with a Xantrex unit like I did in the 325LE, then I will have 110 volts AC as well and will not have to run the generator as often. The kids are happy, both TVs work front and back both on AC or DC. The leveling jacks have stayed put for three days. The 10 amp charger that I purchased at Wal-Mart saved the weekend, we would have stayed any way, but it made it nicer. Regards, Bob

Field expediency is pretty critical when using these beasts. Nice work.

You have to laugh sometimes.....the uni-volt started to work again around 10:00AM Monday morning.....now I have to take it apart and see how it works.....it is still going to be filed away in the "G" file....garbage, but I have to know. Next weekend I start the major tear down of the nose....complete re-wire, new radiator, hoses, thermostat, dash AC and whatever else needs doing.
