345 MO 1986 Black water tank removal ? can you help ?
I need to remove the Black water tank on my 345 MO 1986 model, I have emptied the tank and undone the front and side support brackets, how do I get access to the hose fittings on top to release the tank ?

On my rig (1984 310) the only connection at the top is to the toilet. I THINK (not certain) that if you remove the toilet, you will be able to free the tank.

stack vent
I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure you have to disconnect the stack vent before removal. In my 345 you can get to by looking at the rear furnace from with in the coach under the drawer underz the closet.

yes Raveson, I have looked in there but I still think the toilet will have to come out, as there no room to work in there with the furnace. I think it's the vent and the toilet connection that need to be removed, then the tank should drop out.

I replaced the gate valves and PVC pipe for the black and gray water tanks in our 345...I will pay a large amount of money if it ever needs doing, again...the gray water tank required removal for 'welding' last year(5 cracks)...the folks at Oasis in Tucson had to pull up the toilet and the cross-the-floor closet floor to access...the biggest bugaboo is the vent pipe...ended up with a flex hose(radiator) to make it all work...good luck in your endeavors...mike

The tanks are out !!! my, my, I had some colorful language refering to the gentlemen who designed this never to be removed part of the Airstream ! so my plan is to replace the conecting pipes with high quality 45 degree silicon hose sections, thus allowing me to bend these while conected to the tank, so the tank can go back in and they will then take up a position inside that will be so much easier to conect to. I have also discovered that the tank I thought was black water is in fact the grey water tank, either way they are out so I can now swing a wrench to get he rear air bags out as they leak, I will post the actual firestone new part number when I have measured these . . . . . ( oh yes and my finger hurts, because it took a trip to the earth at high velocity from up high when the jacking bar came out of the jack ! )
So to the firestone website and a call to Summit Racing as they seem to get the best prices on this stuff.
thank you again for the support,
Moonshine
