310 pics of New Girl
I'm planing to custom build all the upper cabinets in my '82 and will be selling the originals which are in fine condition. Im also removing the small cabinet with the fold out table next to the door if anyone is interested. I was also able to pull a large dent out at the license plate rear panel with 2 glass cups! Now you can barely see a crease instead of a 2" deep dent.

Will do! I have redesigned the cabinetry by rounding all the corners and enlarging by 2 inches. I'm trying to keep the AS feel with a mid- century modern look. I'm a custom cabinet designer and builder but spent this season renovating and modifying RV's in AZ. Leaving for Oregon in a few weeks just to hot here! I was inspired to purchase an AS after seeing how poorly built and expensive these new motor coaches are.

I've been in Mesa 4 months and haven't had a chance to hit Flag or Prescott! Hows the drive up that way to the 84? Leaving the 310 to drive my truck pulling a trailer full of cabinet building tools. I wouldn't mind taking 4 days to get there.

Uwe(CA) rebuilds AS from the ground up...He contracts Steve to do some of his woodwork...I can contact them if you are interested...Steve has designed and built to owner specs...don't know if he wants or is willing to return from retirement, but I will ask. m

Not sure where "The 84" is. Are you thinking 89? Here's Flagstaff day before yesterday.

I realized you were talking about "I-84", which starts up in Utah. We've taken that route to Portland many times, and it was not enjoyable. What we've done the past few years is take I-10 or I-40 to Las Vegas and take 95 to Fallon, nice drive. At Fallon and Reno, we usually go up 395 through Bend and into the Columbia River Gorge at Biggs. A big plus is you don't have a big pull up I-84 through Oregon and, you miss the "Cabbage Patch" downgrade at Meacham Summit into Pendleton, which is not for the timid!

Agree with Mike on the route...395 north out of Reno is actually pretty nice....still some decent grades on I-5 but nothing like the Cabbage Hill descent into Pendleton...it's the crazies driving 80MPH on a 2 lane freeway and then a slow moving vehicle passing a even slower moving vehicle....it can get interesting and fog (black ice) can be an issue well into May....almost as bad as leaving warm Sacramento and then two hours later descending Donner Pass in 28 degrees and snow in May...yikes.

Yes they are painted. I don't like them and will be replacing them with custom wood cabinets this fall. The old ones will be available for those interested!
