300 classic, How to tie down on a trailer advice.

Well, I bought a 83' 300. Needs work but the price was right. I've got to haul it home though. About 180 miles. Can anyone tell me the best way to chain it to the trailer? Thanks for all the help.

First question would be, "how are you going to get it ON/OFF a trailer." That's a pretty hefty overhang back there. She's approaching 15K, so talk with the excavator boys about weight. The cool thing about the 300 series, is they will sit behind a medium tow-truck, unlike any coach longer, which has to go on a low-boy because of the extended rear-end. I'd have it towed;with the cost of a trailer (and truck to haul it), it could be a wash.
Let the pros do it (and accept the liability for towing her). I'd take out the driveshaft, too. Send some pics, good luck, that's a sweet coach!

We've got some low spots we can back into to load & unload. I've go friends to help me who deal with hauling tractors, implements, ect all the time so I think that's worked out. Just wondering what some good tie points on the 300 are.

You've got the hook ups up front, I'd put the chain binders just forward of the rear wheels around the frame and watch for all the stuff back there. I still would not do it.

If you want to do it (I am with Mike, I'd let somebody else do the work, take the risk, and have to pay for damages, if any), you will find oval shaped slots in the sides of the frame in strategic places, front, center, and rear. Those are to put T hooks in for tie down chains. You will find at least two front, near the sway bar frame mount, two rear, aft of the axle area, and two somewhere in the middle, should be between the transmission crossmember and rear axle mounts.

Where's "Suck it up, spend the bucks, do it right the first time" when you need him...?
Amateur hour is now over...you now own a fine rig, and you need to realize it sooner than later...take it from a guy who wanted to save a few bucks and spent a bunch...I won't do much, now, without a professional in front of me, or behind me...

AS wants 9' 3" clearance,but as long as the fenders are not too high, you could get away with a foot less + 3" and have some slop.
