Dave and Felicia,

Congrats on your purchase and successful maiden voyage! I think you may have just about the nicest combination of body style, floor plan, and power train that was ever packed into a Classic.
I was thinking fairly seriously about buying that coach, but figured I ought to finish work the one that I've already got first. My 325 has the same engine/transmission set up with the addition of a Gear Vendors overdrive behind it.
Best of luck going forward for the New Year. Your life will never be the same.

Charly.

Charly,

Thanks, we really like it. We went over almost every other combo out there before deciding on this one. It is going to need some TLC on the inside. But it appears to just be cosmetic.

With your set up do you need the gear vendor overdrive? It seems to me that there is ample power with out it, or is it something I should be thinking about down the road?

Have you had to replace your belt tensioner yet? Mine just had a new one put on and the part that cummins now sells is a reverse of the old style which doesn't effect it, but causes it stick out enough to rub the A/C belt.

Steve,

I was told the original owner had a laptop mount that went there. The 10 year old laptop is still in the drawer but no attachment plate. I had planned to leave it for possible use later as a mounting point for Ipad or ham/CB radio. Who knows.

Vernon; Thanks! I told Felicia all about your 63 and she can't wait to see it also! As soon as it gets warm enough to de-winterize we are ready to go. We can do Tunica, Vicksburg, Greenville (Doe's steak house) where ever you want to meet. The USACE parks are nice as well.... LOL!

Dave,

My coach has a LOT of stories to go with it, and over 200k miles on the ticker. I've had it a few years now, but it has become more of a "project" than a "driver". The GV unit drops the RPM by a reasonable amount and allegedly allows 15mpg to be attainable according to the previous owner. The GV site claims a 20-25% improvement in mileage is possible. I really haven't had a chance to see what the reality is. I tend to be driving pedal down most of the time, and still don't have a calibrated speedometer or functional tach in place.

Charly,

I was getting 13.9 in the mountains on I-81 through Va and TN, so I really think 15mpg is attainable on flat roads. Especially with the gear vendor of banks addition. I just don't see the need for it currently, but than again, I had nothing in the moho except my fat a$$. LOL!

Any good projects currently? What belts are you using on your cummins?

Interior pics 1 of 2

Thought I would put up some interior pics as it was picked up. So here are the before shots. Needs allot lot of cleaning and TLC. First interior thing to do is replace the flooring with a floating floor, than a top to bottom cleaning. We are going to have a carpet cleaning company do the wall carpet so we can decide if that needs to be replaced as well. Hope not! Pulled all the drapes to get dry cleaned to see if they are salvageable for the near future or we need to get new.

Here is the second group of shots. Gotta love the ability to open the bathroom door wide and close the forward door to double the size of the space!

Steve,

My only comment to your statement about "larger format without having to click" is it causes long page loading times for people like me who live in the boonies and rely on internet connections such as Verizon MiFi or satellite.

Sometimes it gets to the point I just skip your pages cause they take so long to load.

Of course not everyone has bandwidth issues like I do.

So maybe sticking with the 4 smaller photos would be best. How did the above photos load? did u get significant delay?

we could always just attach a pic or two the normal way and than out a link to additional photos for those who want to see more while keeping loading speeds up for those with slow connections. Since I have the same issues when I am reading air forums while on the road using my wireless card.

Dave,

All of the pictures you've posted are just fine. The problem shows up when pictures are in the megabyte size and loaded from external links. If I was on a true high speed connection I would prefer the larger sizes as well.

Keep in mind the download problems are probably only experienced by a very small percentage of forum viewers. I'm just unlucky enough to be living far enough into the boonies that my only internet options are satellite (which we dumped) or something like Verizon MiFi. Things should improve drastically for me as soon as Verizon extends their 4g LTE service to my area. That is supposed to happen mid year or so.

One other thing to keep in mind when posting pictures. If you are using an offsite source to host your pictures when you post a picture to a thread and include the links if that offsite source ever goes away or changes any of their link formats then those pictures will no longer show up in the thread. If you've ever seen posts in threads where a big red X shows up instead of a picture that's usually the problem. By uploading the pictures to Airforums they will always be part of the thread.

Bottom line is do what you feel is best for your posts. If I want to see a picture I'll wait for it to load if I have too!

Brad

Been away visiting my son in Pheonix AZ for New Years, so some catching up to do!
Hope this makes ya feel good...
Driving my GF's 1998 Range Rover 4.6 HSE... we did 840 miles...
15.5mpg(using Premium gas), and an average of 72mph(must be wrong...).
Now I feel upset...

Anyway..
Thanks for the input on the photobucket pics Brad, I am sorry if anyone is lagged out by using external links... I did not know that was an issue!

Hey Dave...
Beautiful, beautiful, stunning interior!
I like the way the toilet door folds... never seen that before!
Can you seperate the front living area from the toilet/shower?

I assume your back will benefit from a matress in the bedroom sometime...

On the subject of your rearview camera... did you see the simple little cover I made for my ugly white aftermarket camera...

I need a new camera. Did your camera hook up to the original din plug in the Moho or did you snake a new coax cable through the coach?

Brad I'm glad you mentioned this. I thought it was just me but at least now I know there are others. Also the posts don't open to the first unread, they bounce up and down and stop in the middle of a post. It certainly isn't the worst problem in the world but at least now I have a clue why.

Key; Yes there is an accordion door just forward of the wardrobes that than separates the forward part of the coach from the bathroom area. So when you close the two off you have a very large bathroom with the shower and both wardrobes in it! it is bigger than the one in our house!

I had an air mattress back there for the trip home, but mamma and my back opted for the hotels. Going to use the one out of our trailer. May get a new one, but depends on how the rest of the renovations go.

I like you camera cover, but I don't have the metal fabrication skills that you do! The other thing I was thinking was if I use the old housing, not only do I get the retro feel, but I can put in 3 CCD's in that huge body. One pointing aft and than 2 down to either side. So I would have a full 180x 90 degree view of the back area. The pic below shows what I am thinking. The middle one would be a 120 degree spread with the sides overlapping with it. My art skills need work as well!

I am interested in what Key did as well. They out a new wireless transmitter in the back for mine, I assume to avoid having to snake a new wire and eliminate the wire run as one of the possible issues.

If I remember correctly the cable that runs from front to back has a coax cable embedded inside a multi-conductor cable.

Not sure if that answers your question or just confuses the issue

Dave,
Mine was installed(poorly!) by some PO... and it is wired.
Its a Voyager, which I gather is a pretty good make, but still B&W.. but does have IR LEDs.
Seems to work well regardless.
As for my "Metalworking Skills"...
LOL, not so much!
It was a scrap of aluminum sheet... I made a cardboard template for the rough shape, and bent it over a socket... then offered it up to the MH sitting on top of the camera and ran a marker pen around it.
Cut that line with a tinsnips... and tried it again and again until it looked close enough... Then used a marker to guestimate the rear edge, and cut that with snips..
Here it is in a rougher stage...

A quick file, and 5 mins on the buffer and it looks good enough to fool most people!

I made a very simple bracket from an offcut of aluminum about 3/4"x 6" and bent that into a U shape. It uses the camera body bolts.
