Stream,
Figured that the Vulkem on the roof seams are there for a reason, it's why I ordered 2 60 foot long rolls of Eternabond white tape. Figure I'm going to be painting the roof reflective white anyhow, why not give myself a nice clean edge to work from. Won't strip the Vulkem until Eternabond arrives. No rain called for this week, but who knows, the monsoon season is getting close.....
Thanks, Derek

New Toys!

Ok,
So A/C's arrive via FedEx to local FedEx store at approximately 10pm Monday night! Took me a day to 'twist' arm of co-worker to 'borrow' pick-em-up' truck today! Jeez, these things are HUGE!
Once I got truck back to rightful owner, came home to discover MORE new toys out by the front door! Woo-Hoo, Color Me Happy!
That is until I actually have to get these things installed......LOL

Still, I'm finally beginning to have progress on the beast!

Few more items arrived this week. Two 50 foot rolls of Eternabond tape to accompany the two 5 foot rolls from earlier. This should stop any leaks along roof seams. Also found a fan to install at RV fridge. eBay seller had advertised that he had fan AND small solar panel, but that combo is no longer available. Have on order a small solar panel, which should arrive any day now. Since I have an inline surge protector that was pretty $$$, decided to purchase a Lock Hasp to place over electrical power cord connection cord.

Not a lot going on with Airstream lately. It's gotten HOT In FL the past 6 weeks or so.

But, decided my 'take' on local FL fish/tackle shop sticker was in order.

Best $10 I ever spent!

Nice! Yeah it is hotter than Heck here as well. Finally got a free week-end myself going to start at 0500 to try and beat the heat!

So post some pics. Love the sticker buy the way! Where did you get it?

The Airstream sticker was custom-made by a delivery customer on my mail route. I'm sure he'll make whatever you want, as I made several changes until I finally said "Go for it". Believe he has an eBay Store, if I can find out what name is, I'll post here.

no to the A/C installation. Running into some variations with new units, opposed to old original A/C. Have things buttoned up, so no water getting inside. Hoping to get front one installed this Sunday. Will post pix.
Thanks, Derek

Derek,
When installing a new rear air 4 years ago could not easily find a way to use the old pan so the unit would drain through the old tube. Took off all the old pan and reattached the new one so that it drained over the roof. Doing so, the tough part was getting the new unit onto the roof. Used my old out side shroud as a sled up a ladder. It worked, but when I eventually replace the front, will be sure to have a fork lift to get it up! Quick note met up with Steve in Vegas. Had a great visit with him and his wife Robyn. Have traveled about 8,000 miles to date and heading south through West Virginia, and Ashville, NC. Get your new tires on and we should meet up in FL in the near future. Good luck with the air units.
Richard

Power Awning?

Has anyone ever checked to see if this type of 'Lateral-Arm' Awning would work on our Classics?

Hey Derek,

I looked into the Girard's a while back. I was thinking about mounting them way up on the roof, adjacent to the A/C units. By doing that, you could keep most of the coach in the shade at all times. But holy cow, have you seen the price of those things? Two of them would cost as much as my moho!!
