1984 270 Excella (party layout)?
Hi, all.
I have read a lot here this weekend! I have a chance to buy one for $16k.
What should I watch for, and what should I ask? What's a fair price range?
I've wanted an Airstream for years, hoping this works!!
Many thanks for any advice,
Mir

Hey Mir we have a 270, 1984 model and love it. Things we looked at was the plastic overheads to make sure there was only small cracking, and how the tambours work, and condition
The P.O. of ours had gone rhru the chassis snd replaced tires bushings, shox, radiator, water pump exhaust, suspension airbags, marker exterior lights, replaced the generator (now a 4Kgas powered Honda) For us it was move in ready and cost us $16500. Our interior was original and pristine in that the coach only had 31000 miles on it 2 and a half years ago.
If the one you are looking at is nice, they are rare, go for it. Its great for two people

Here's a recent thread with lots of advice:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f311...ice-84375.html
It's an old Chevy truck, but there are a lot of old Chevy trucks out there that are worth $16k. The question is whether the seller has kept it up mechanically so that it's worth that much.

Ok, the seller was sketchy. The RV looked good, but I'm not into playing games w/ people who contradict themselves trying to look good...

Hi Mir,
Is this close enough to at least get an address and 'drive-by'? Even if the owner is a bit sketchy with his descriptions, just getting a look would make your decision a bit easier. Still, 16K is a bunch of money, especially if there are some serious problems.....just my opinion.
Thanks, derek

Otherwise, if you use this search engine for Craigslist, searchtempest.com, you could possibly find something in your area.
Good luck, Derek
