Why I needed an Argosy 20' Motorhome...

As you can see, our driveway is pretty tight. West Virginia is a tough place to find a house where an RV can be stored. Heck, it is a huge selling point to even have a level driveway! We already have 4 cars (one not shown). I am not sure even a 24' unit would fit.

I did add 9' to the concrete pad so I could back him up past the edge of the house.

I've backed him down a few times without any problems.

We really liked the small unit and we did not want to pay for storage. It is also a real plus having him close by for maintenance and loading/unloading.

This is a great model and one we considered getting. I noticed yours is male. What's his name? I have several names for my 1979 28' Excella Motorhome depending on my mood. I drove big rig for a while just because I wanted the experience and my favorite truck was a Volvo 870 painted bright red and named Jasper! My motorhome is definitely female because a male would never have cost me so dearly. All the same, I love her!

Why I needed a new house
When we were looking to buy a new house, one of the criteria was RV storage on concrete. We got lucky that this car port accommodates the new to me 345 and it even came with a nice home.

Awesome! I, personally, feel it is not worth building a garage or carport unless it is tall enough for accommodate an RV/Boat etc. I mean, there are exceptions but the additional material cost is minimal in the grand scheme of things. Congratulations!

Mary,

Ours is male because the previous owners named him "George." We thought about other names but George stuck. We did get to hear the story behind his name. We did not change the name of our other Airstream (345) either. The 345 was named Jellybean III (with stick on letters under a coat of silver paint).

Nice carport! I need to price one out myself. I need to get him covered.

If you watch this video, you will hear it every time you mention George:

In my case, it is watch out for the orange highway barrels!

(If I ever hit one, there is a certain member of the forums that would NEVER let me forget it! )

you know, Fred, this year was the 10 year anniversary of the Mystic 7 Rally.
May be a good chance to forgive and forget the Barrel Basher, unless you are still mad you didn't win the door prize...
