Where is the fuel pump?

I have a 1976 Argosy 28 ft motorhome and I am looking for the engines fuel pump. Is it in the fuel tank. How can I get to it?

It's probably mechanical and is on the lower side of the engine towards the front. Follow the line from the carb.

Thumbs up Fuel Pump

Thanks for the help. I tried to cheat a little, ask the pros and if that didn't work. I would get my wife to craw into the engine compartment and follow the fuel line from the carb after it disappears from my topside view.

I dropped the ball again.

The motor is a Chev 454 CID with a automatic transmission. Thanks to all for the help. Bugler

The mechanical pump is located on the lower right side towards the front of the 454 engine. Best access is from the wheel well or laying in front of the wheel and crawling underneath.

You will likely also have an electric pump about midway back to the fuel tank. This is a booster pump to help overcome vapor lock problems.

Thanks to Brad for his help. As soon as the temp drops down to below 90 I will get started on it.
