Question What is this gadget?

Over 33 years, I can just imagine the various owner(s) of my 1977 Argosy installing various things. I have switches and things that are not original, not labeled, and which I am afraid to flip.

There is a little box under the dash. Pics attached. Does anyone know what it might be?

You are looking at a Remco switch that was probably used to activate a Remco Transmission Pump on a toad car.

I found this:

The switch would control a pump added to the toad to pump transmission fluid while it was being towed. If all you have is the switch, it does nothing.

Wow! That was quick! Thanks for the info. I have the switch but not the pump, so I can get rid of the switch.

I always wondered if my mh had ever been used to tow heavy stuff. Now I know it probably was.

Mine also has this accessory. Checked pricing for a potential TOAD, the Lube Pump Kit is more than $2K. Tow Dolly would seem to be the less expensive solution. Am I over-looking a reason to use their pump vs a "wheels up" option?
