Went And Did It.
Found a 1975 Argosy , 26 footer in the paper the other day in the classifieds. Well short story it is now setting in my drive way needs a good detailing, yea it is not perfect but considering it has a new fridge, runs and stops good . Deduct the cost of the fridge and I don't have a whole lot in it and with a good face lift it will be a frist class rig. Now in the months to come I'll have questions on fixing up this and I hope the people here can help me out.

Congratulations. Everyone on the Forum is very helpful. We bought our 67GT in July and have had fun working on our Airstream. The Forum is grand.
We have never "travel trailer" and they really helped. It will require work..but it will be time well spent. ENJOY

Sounds like a slow leak in the air bag. Might be time to replace both. Cheap fix. When you install or have them installed be sure to put in the remote inflation kit. This makes it easy to check and you'll do it more often.
Cost is not that bad and Camping World install them cheap too.

There are instruction on the forum that will guide you thru the process of replacing your bags. Follow them and you will be able to do it yourself and save a few coins. I know, I did.

Now that would be cool!. Something I've never seen done. Better yet rig it to tow an Argosy TT. Has anybody seen this done before?

Hi everybody ,hope you like her . Not bad looking ,but the light blue color will have to go sooner or later. I am the third owner I found out ,the guy I bought it from had only had it about 4 years. Now the first owner bought it new in 1975 for a little over $19000 from a dealer in Columbus Ohio and what I was told he used it for tail gating at Ohio State games and traveling to away games. The first owner was the one that had it painted white and blue. Nice knowing a little history about her, wanted to make sure the old gal came from the right side of the tracks!
Now a couple questions , airs bag for the front. What is the better brand(s) to buy? Wheels and tires , it now has 16.5 wheels and tires. I was thinking about changing to 16inch to help with the ride and have a larger circumference. Should help slow the motor down a little. The 3rd opition If I could find a set of 19.5 , 8 lug wheel for a P-30 chassis ,what I read are a little rare. But what I like about the 8R-19.5 tire are they are 12 or 14 ply ,should dry rote before you wear them out and they have a Dia. of around 33 inches. If my math is right there is about a 8 mph advantage of the 19.5 tire over the 16.5 at 2500 rpm. Has anybody out there changed to the 19.5's?
But to start with when I get my work caught up is get it in fix the air bags and go over the brake system to start with

Nice looking rig. When I changed my front air bags I used whatever camping world sent me! I didn't know there was a choice. make sure you use lots of liquid dish soap when you're installing your airbags. They do go in if you persuade them long enough. I agree with Glencoombe about the remote filler. I installed mine under the hood near the windshield washer reservoir. When I'm on the road I check the pressure daily when I'm checking my oil, antifreeze and tires.

I think my bags were Air Lift.
The only way I deviated from the instructions was to use a floor jack to help me get the bags up and in. I really couldn't get enough leverage while on my back, rust in my eyes, mouth, hair, and too little exercise. Wouldn't have it any other way.

So that's why you love your MoHo so much ! By the way, I'm really jealous you have hair . Lost mine so long ago, I can't remember ever having it . Since when would a school teacher deviate from instructions ?

Tim,
A lot of that hair is not on the top of my head but hanging around my face. It does a good job of covering it up.
We "deviate" shcool teachers can be a really subversive lot. And you really have to look out for the social studies lads.

Steve,
Boy, do I feel better ! My face has all my former head hair also . Check out my profile picture on my profile. The two beautiful ladies are not both my wife . They're actually my daughters, but I can't figure how they got so old while I've stayed so young.
I don't think it's just Social Studies teachers who can 'deviate' from instructions .

tires:
FWIW,
I went to 9:50 x 16.5 steeltex's on my 24' Argosy
I got them from tire rack as it was the best price anywhere at the time.
Kumho also now makes that size and they are a little less $$$.
Both are about 31" dia tire.
It seems like F'stone quit the making the 16.5's but I don't remember for sure.
I have a set of kumho's on my ol'vette and it rides quiter and they are longer lasting than the Goodyears that the factory provided.
I like the 9:50x 16.5's on the Argosy as they have a softer ride than the std. 8:75's that were on it before.

George,
I think you made the right choice. Don't have to change wheels, and all the changes that would necessitate. I switched from the Michelin 19.5 8R on my Blimp to an "off-brand" tire, and they were not only cheaper, but the ride was much better. Biggest problem with the 19.5 wheels used in later models was that the wheels are so narrow, going to a wider tire isn't really an option. There is a single metric that is the only other tire available, but it's not enough wider to make much difference. I think you'll really like the ones you've gotten.
Best,
