Now that's an interesting thought!

I haven't done it but you've got me thinking about it now. Great, one more thing added to the to do list

Every time I stop by a junk yard I've kept my eyes open for the dashes that were fitted to the 74 & 75 (& 76?) Argosy's but have yet to see one.

I've been looking at a couple of different approaches to dash rework, one is to just take the entire dash and replace it with a new dash with all the gauges I want in a custom arrangement. The other is to just add gauges around the existing dash cluster.

One of these days I'll mock up a new dash to see what it would look like. What usually stops a plan like this in its tracks is the cost

You can buy tachs from places like Summit Racing that you might be able to install. If you do find something that works definitely let me know!

How about a picture of the dash so us armchair experts can tell you how to do it!

That would be cheating

Here is a picture of my 74 dash. I'll see if I can't find a better close up and post it as well.

Here is the tach that I had previously purchased for my Argosy. It typically mounts on the steering column or on top/bottom of the dash. However it will fit in a 2-1/2" hole and has an overall diameter of 2-5/8".

The inner silver ring in the center section on the Argosy dash is 2-3/4" so the tach would fit in that area. You would have to get a little creative on mounting but I don't see that as a insurmountable problem.

Yeah, my dash needs at a minimum a good cleaning. I will be looking at making a nice new instrument cluster someday but not before it's running and driving.
