Relaxing window track

So I've noticed that my window tracks are rather worn and need replacing.I have a roll of the stuff but I got a little confused and could use some help. I removed the old stuff from the window frame and cut a piece that was long enough to be pushed into the frame. I pushed it in all the way and tried to replace the sliding window but I don't have enough room, any pointers?

In my Argosy I have a fabric/wire track that the sliding window pane and screens sit in. From years of sitting they have deteriorated and are now falling apart.

Interesting problem. To date I've only replaced the track in one window (on the 310) and had no issues in getting the window to slide afterwards. You might try some silicone spray. Other than that I'm out of ideas

Just replaced all of mine, with window closed remove old fuzzychannel, slide window open, carefully raise window up into open (empty) channel and pull the bottom toward you, the window will come out. Remove the rest of the fuzzy channel that is in the closed position groove, start by inserting the new channel into the middle of the groove at the top and go all the way around to the top corner, leave that last half section hanging out, slide the window into the top grove (open position) and the bottom of the window will drop into the new fuzzy channel, slide the remaining fuzzy channel into place. there is a better explanation on this site somewhere. Use lots of silicon spray after.

Hi,
Where did you guys get this fuzzy window track stuff? What's it actually called in online catalogs?
Thanks,
Nik

Inland RV Center, they are very helpful, expensive but it is the original channel, it's called fuzzy schlegel, they also have the other moldings that go around the outside of the window. 800-877-7311, there are several good posts on removing and replacing the channel, I tried but not sure how understandable my explanation was.
