Novel use of our donor Argosy
My better half has come up with a pretty good suggestion of a use for or 28ft donor Argosy..... look away if you are a purist!
At least it won't matter if it leaks!

Yep. Love it.
Martin, now that you've got me thinking of donors, what happened to your donor 28'er?
That was the same color as mine. If were weren't 1500 miles apart I'd try and nab your rear bumper and a few other misc parts. Ah well..

As the shop have taken parts off the donor they have sealed everything up (taped plastic over the windows etc) so it isn't open to the elements. The interior is complete and as far as I know all works and the awnings all intact (although one of the arms look a strange shape to me). The engine/transmission runs fine (I drove it off the low-loader) same with the brakes and Onan. The only mechanical issue is the PO replaced the rear bags and bought a new on-board compressor but never installed it so it is sitting loose. The dash is all removed so it isn't drive able now, and that is the issue. It costs far more to move these things than they are actually worth (strange that a re-cycler would buy it for scrap and tow it way, but a tow company needs a Class C truck to move it). So although a couple of members here have expressed an interest in taking it for scrap value, and I would happily let it go - moving it anything more than a few miles is just uneconomic and strip it where it sits would require permission of the Airstream shop where it is parked.
Either way that decision is now deferred for a little while as we need to keep it until the body-work is done later in the year.

I am looking for an onboard compressor. Keep me in mind when the time comes.

I am looking for some parts for mine if you decide to strip it (or whoever buys it). I just need some trim pieces and maybe an awning.

Will do Gregsch. I don't have any details other than the PO telling me 'it was the same as the factory one'. Our little 20ft doesn't have air bags so I wasn't paying much attention.

I'm keeping you in mind Matt (and Fishizzle).
Maybe we can arrange a date/weekend later in the year for any folks that are interested can show up and we can have a 'grab some spares rally'. The Airstream dealer does allow some of the local 'streamers to have informal rallies on their lot. It will look kinda cool if we can get a few of the motorhomes together.
