My own wrap around window job.

I would like to put rear wrap-around windows on the back of my 24' Argosy Motorhome. I am sure I'm capable of the job. The question is:

Are the rear wrap around windows on an Argosy Motor home the same exact windows as the front windows on an Argosy trailer? If they are I can salvage trailer windows for my motor home.

Anyone happen to know if these windows were all exactly the same - spanning not just between trailers and motor homes but from the mid 70's to late in the decade.

My guess is they are all exactly the same, but before I start cutting into the compound curves, I thought I'd ask.

Thanks,

Nik

Nik,

Give me some time to dig through the photos I have of the 345 that I dismantled and of the 74 excella trailer I'm currently dismantling.

What year trailer are you looking at for window?

Brad

They are all the same up through the late 1980's. Some are tinted, but are the same size and shape.

Hi and Thanks. I have a '78 24' Argosy with rear bath. Looks like I might have access to a wreck with good rear windows from 1975. I'm getting the message that windows are all the same throughout this era. It'll be fun to cut into this thing.
Thanks again.

I'd love to see your works in progress. Please send images for sure. I have a '78 Excella in progress (slow progress) along with this Argosy.

It seems like I messed up in my replies on this blog. I hope people can make out what my responses were meant to be and to whom.
Thanks all!

Here are some rear interior pictures of the 1986 345 that I dismantled a couple of years ago.

I'm still looking forward to the pictures of the 74 Excella. The Excella pictures may not be of any use since it didn't have the full wrap around windows, it just had the small side wing windows.

I don't think the Argosy motorhome construction differs to much from the 345 construction, at least not in the major details.

Hope this helps.

Brad

Thanks. I see you have a 20' Argosy. I had a 20' 1975 with the rear windows and I would love to replicate that in my 24'. Thanks very much for the pictures.

Along with the actual frame for the wrap around and center rectangular windows there are two horizontal members. One on top and one underneath the opening for the whole window assembly. I wonder if anyone knows if those horizontal members are present on an Argosy that does not have wrap around windows, i.e. a rear bath model.

I'm sure you catch my drift. If those horizontal members exist on rear bath models, then they are my guides for cutting and supports for the wraparounds. That would be very, very helpful to know.

Thanks to all...

I would think if someone with a rear bath model could check for rivet lines and if they are in the same location as those horizontal members that would be a good indication.

I know John Warden (Sheperd57) dismantled a rear bath Argosy motorhome so he might have some pictures that would give you a clue as to what's what on the rear bath models.
