Yes Brad, 5ft double doors to the front, and a window to the side. The pent aspect of the workshop roof means there is also space for a mezzanine type loft which will give space for all of the spares I currently have scattered all around the world!

You guys know any San Francisco Bay Area Argosy etc. owners open to renting out their MH for a vacation?
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f156...on-178110.html
If you have any ideas, maybe you could visit that thread.
Thanks,
Peter
PS -- Your renovations all make for fascinating reading. Awesome carport and workshop, Martin!

Actually, Martin, I am quite envious of the quality of your project, since I was contemplating adding a second RV port on the other side of my house. You know the side where your reserved 3 point hook-ups are.
Texas is notorious for spring hail events and my other RV port is all filled up.
I got 1 Estimate for a metal structure 12' tall x 12' wide x 30' for $2,400.-
But I decided against it, since it would only be anchored by 3' deep (they claim) stakes.
I would love to have a structure like yours, but it may be out of my budget and also would require a permit.

Having fun and games with the carriage house.....after the snow and ice of last week, the guys were back working on the roof, until one of them feel off yesterday.
Work is now on hold until the safety inspection happens (for the contractors insurance) to address the cause.
I can tell them the cause, working 4m up a ladder which was setup on the lawn and so sunk in one side = two broken wrists for the contractor!

Very sorry to hear that Martin. He's lucky. Job sites can be so awfully dangerous and accidents happen in a blink.

It's a little frustrating as my comment to the contractor on day one was, "I got quotes from 3 companies, 2 said the job required a 7m scaffold, yours didn't say what you are going to use?". They replied their health and safety assessment indicated it was OK to work from a 3m tower. Well they couldn't reach the last 1m and so worked off a ladder. I came home to reports of the guy landing in our neighbors garden.
They are doing a good job, and the building has already blended into the background, it is a shame about the drama.
Meanwhile Bella sits in the front garden waiting for camping season to start!

Wow, that sucks. Getting around with two broken wrists isn't going to be easy.
Looking at the picture of your car parked next to Bella really shows just how small the 20' Argosies really are!

Especially as that is Denise's little A-Class sub-compact
Dimensions
Length 3,780 mm (148.8 in)
Width 1,719 mm (67.7 in)
Height 1,587 mm (62.5 in)
Or as I describe Bella; her height is 50% of her length, and she is 40% as wide as she is long, but she is darn heavy for her size!

Well it is now officially 1 year since Bella was first registered in the UK. This means the UK license authority have released her registration documents (because I already owned her, she was imported with restrictions for the first year). Which also means the official assignment of her in the 'Historic' vehicle class and at last I can throw away the modern reflective number plates and replace with old style ones.
But also it now means she does not incur vehicle road tax (which in the UK is set based on emission levels, so for example my SLK350 costs about $750 a year to use on the road), with the added bonus that from May 2018 Bella also will not need the annual inspection (called the MOT). The MOT is what last year triggered the front end engine rebuild because the timing chain wear was impacting the fast idle/emission failure. She does still need an MOT to be used for the next few months, but the end is in sight!

Wow, it doesn't seem like it's been that long. Does this change in status reduce insurance rates for Bella?
I was rather surprised when I was quoted $110/year for my Argosy, however hat's just basic coverage. When I actually start driving then I'll revisit what coverage to get.
How's the carriage house coming?

Well we have had one of the wettest Springs on record, only 5 days ago we had a months rain in one day. The soil around here is clay so that water just sits and turns the back yard into a lake.
However, today, Spring is sprung, there is not a cloud in the sky and it's a chance for Bella to get a spring clean!

Martin,
The carriage house looks great!
Keeping the sun and weather off the paint will definitely help Bella look good for years to come.

How have I missed this?
I’m really excited to have found your thread. Even though you don’t have the same caravan as we do I’ll still enjoy reading it all. Ya never know when what you have already done may help us in our restoration. I have a lot to catch up on now ...
Cheers~

The weather had been 'horizontal rain' for weeks so I am glad to get her under cover. She did ship some water during last winter whilst parked outside and the passenger side cockpit slide even got pushed out of its track by one storm.
Hopefully no serious damage done, but we wont know for sure until she is all dried out.

Its pretty rare for folks to have space for anything like our carriage house in the UK, unless you live on a farm or similar. It does seem strange when I explain we decided where we wanted to live because of local amenities but actually bought this house because I could see we could get a new entrance to the rear, new driveway, and the carriage house. But the plan really has worked out well and we (and the neighbors) are happy.

I noticed your weather bane, but could not make out the animal you are flying up there. I have a pig on the guesthouse/temple and a horse on the Rv port
