Slightly backward would be perfect from the height you're installing it at. I think I've figured out a way to mount my camera up high where the center lights are above the window.

Originally the upper rear lights are mounted directly to the shell. I plan on using some of those aluminum plinths like those used for the side marker lights and adapt one of them to hold one of the cameras. Shouldn't be difficult and should make it less noticeable.

So are the wiresless cameras just not up to snuff yet? Not dependable?

Personally I use a lot of wireless technology for work, and if I can run a wire, I will always run a wire. Standardization in wireless technology helps but (at least at the moment) the performance is still compared to the "Gold Standard" of a direct connection.

Wireless is for convenience not performance....

New panels are in on the passenger side rear three-quarters

And work is progressing on the wheel well trims; they have 'made' two 16" trims from the 19.5" wheel donor (by cutting/butting) but the donor trims had snap fasteners attached for wheel covers - and the spacing look a little weird. Waiting on some different trims to arrive from shepherd57.

Panel replacement looks good. I'm assuming they used Olympic rivets since your interior walls are in place.

Getting closer

Not to throw a grenade into discussions on other threads but they claim Airstream service bulletins approve the use of Olympic rivets....

My Argosy is plastered with Olympic rivets. I'm fairly certain most of them were done at the factory based on where they were used.

Bella's new wheels arrived yesterday (set of ION 167 Alcoa look-a-likes, new caps and lug nuts)

Too late to get some rubber on them this weekend. Hopefully that will happen before the end of the week, to allow the existing (new) tires/rims to come off Bella and get taken to fit on Peanut, to get him back on the road by next weekend.

How does the wheel quality look?

Would you mind posting a picture of one of the lug nuts? I'm curious what style was supplied.

The wheel quality looks great. Front and rears are different. Rear are -127mm offset polished on one side, front are +102mm polished both sides, all are 3200lb rated. They were made in China (but I guess everything is nowadays) and the center caps are just chromed plastic but look OK.

The lug-nuts are a little funky.

They supply an adapter to allow standard 6 sided lug-nut to be used

Thanks Mike, it is one of the advantages of the early 20s, they use standard 1 ton GMC wheels so we have a bit of the choice.

First photos of Bella totally in her new base coat.

Its not very clear but that also means the new lower front valance is fully installed and the new insulated ceramic roof coat also in place. Also the first proper look at the new wheels.

Three weeks to the 'Get Together' as we are pretty much exactly on schedule.
