The shop manager is claiming the issue was a bad connection, and they managed to clean up and repair the track and is happy that was the best approach.....so whats wrong with this picture?
"A tech spending 4 days @ $120/hr to fix a $70 part"
No wonder the cost of the remodel has doubled!

I had to break down and take my 310 into my local sound and vision electrical guru to have some electrical gremlins hunted down and executed and an Alpine stereo system put in with subs and all the good stuff. I know I'm probably going to have heart palpitation at the cost so I can't imagine for one instant what you have spent.
All I can say is I really hope you like it a lot.......
Cheers
Tony

If we don't like it then it would be our own fault Tony, as the guys have built exactly what we asked for, so no issues there; and we expected to spend money going into the remodel.
My gripe with the shop manger at Airstream NE is he doesn't understand the difference between spending money and wasting money, having the guys spend days trying to salvage and re-use parts that are available new for little cost.
Likely, my better half is a calming influence......

Well, it will still look like a dogs dinner on the outside, but the next rally we aiming for is Lake Pemaquid; are you going?

Short update whilst trying to contain my excitement.
Piccolo Bella ('Bella' for short) passed her State inspection yesterday, and is back on the road. The guys at the shop have been road testing and they report everything is working great.
Unfortunately this week is crazy busy at work, so I haven't been able to get to the shop and take her for a test drive yet, but I have managed to get the day off tomorrow and will take her out for the first time.......
Typical; I fly to Puerto Rico for work on Saturday so it will be a couple of weeks before the first proper camping trip.

Well let's start this update with the most important photo....the State Inspection sticker to get Bella back on the road.
But follow that up with the most striking before and after photos
There are still a small snag list (eg tied up under the dash and fit the demister vent trims) and the window trims are still at the fab shop (more on that later), but everything is back together enough for Bella to be back on the round, operational and ready to camp.
We drove her around a little today just to get used to the feel, new things we added to the snag list were; the hydroboost is leaking air so the brakes fade away under pressure, the new petrol tank needs an additional vent as it was nearly impossible to get more than 20 gallons of fuel on-board and the gauges on the instrument cluster went out (despite them being repaired) so need replacing.
So some photos from inside (with the mattresses still to be added).
But also a couple from after the test drive with Bella lined up beside some of her younger cousins.
Hopefully by the time I get back from Puerto Rico these will be installed and the snag list will be cleared.

Nearly certain it will be Willow Green (Ditzler PPG 43391) as used on the mid to late sixties GM models. However before we jump in, the paint shop is doing some checking (they are a PPG shop) as the same color code seems to result in quite a range of finishes, dependent on how it is applied
Either way we will keep the center-line the original Argosy main body (off white) color.

Very sage (get it, sage) colour choice Martin. I bought a similar colour on my 07 Altima 3.5 SE 6 sp as it doesn't show dust, scuffs or scratches near to the same extent as darker colours do. It will reflect quite a bit of light and a rain will be enough to wash it.
Cheers
Tony
