Ohhh yes!
I don't mind one bit.
With the fixing up of this semi-tired old behemoth
I get to practice all my , not too impressive, 'skills'.
Plumbing, carpentry, carpet laying, painting, soldering,
fixing electric stuff etc. etc.
I LOVE it !

Took the Spongemobile, as it has now been named,
on it's first real tour / test drive.
Up the mountains between Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

Performed faultlessly, didn't miss a beat:
..oil-pressure way up
..voltage/charging way up
..radiator temperature way down ( 1/4 to somewhat under 1/2 up the scale)
..fuel-meter.....erh.....declining....fastlike...who cares; small price
for an exiting life

.-)

I just seriously love this silly thing to bits!

Short un-interesting..
( but for me flipping great memorable first trip in my dream-drive)
.. VIDEO

I'm seriously hooked.

Need to do a front-suspension rebuild.
Where would be the best place to buy parts
springs, dampers, swaybar bushings etc. ?

Thanks !

I just replaced ALL of my copper this summer for the same reason. My pipes burst because my 2 drain valves were clogged shut. What a nightmare. I replaced with pex and the shark bite fittings from home depot. The hardest part was attaching the older faucets but otherwise a breeze. No more busted pipes for me

Also best place to find suspension parts is mills supply in Ohio. They seem to have it all. I have purchased airbags, springs, ball joints, sway bar bushings etc from them

Sorry to jump back to the beginning of the thread, but I have to ask a question about your bunk mounting. I just purchased a bunk like this out of a 1977 Argosy 28 motor home. I have a 1977 Argosy 24 motor home. The previous owner had already removed the bunk from his motor home when I purchased, so I did not have an opportunity to study the installation / removal. I have done the install to my 24, but I am unhappy with the sturdiness of the ceiling strap brackets. I am thinking perhaps that the ribs in a 28 were different in the bedroom area than in my 24. I've attached a few pics of my installation.

Would it be possible for you to shoot some close pictures of the ceiling brackets in your Argosy 28? In the quoted pic, I can see one of the ceiling brackets and that is where mine are mounted, too. But I am not happy with how much they flex when I put some weight on the bunk. Can you tell me if they are in-line with ribs (i.e. the brackets line up with a line of rivets)?
