Can you provide us with the model information, at least? There are several different lengths in that year, with different equipment, appointments, layout, and engine.

If you're serious about buying it, take it to the closest CAT scales (most truck stops on the interstate have them), also check grain elevators, asphalt plants, and redi-cement plants - usually a single weighing is much less than $20 bucks - add (or subract) known water and fuel on the Argy in question, and you'll have a pretty good first pass on the weight.

Don't forget that people, pets, and provisions add up very quickly - it's best to weigh your unit outfitted "ready to roll" so you will have a good idea of what your actual weight is.

Sorry I forgot it is a 26 foot, rear twins in back and a dinnet to the side with A/C on the roof , a generator in the rear , with a 454 motor. Maybe this will help. The unit needs engine work ,I need a idea what the unit weighs to pick a cam for the motor.

Hi, I just joined and am wandering whether your manual has the same data for a 24ft rear bathroom. I may want to ship a 24 ft unit to Europe but need to know if I am allowed to drive it with a non-trucking license (max 3.500 kilograms/7700 lbs)...
Thanks in advance

The wife,my sister and two cousins have taken the motorhome and gone to a fashion show in Toronto so the manual is in the closet of the motorhome. As far as i can remember the curb weight on a 24 is 8475 lb i will confirm this when the wife returns.
As for your licensing you are going to have to contact the motor vehicle licensing branch of your state or country. Here in North America it is not a comercial vehicle and therfore is not licensed as such. It is a pleasure craft MOTORHOME and therefore is licensed diferently .I believe that even with air brakes in this country one does not need an air brake endorcement ,if it is a motorhome, not sure why .Its only a mater of time before some wise ass politition says oh oh ,we can soke them for more money and then watch out ,it will be like a boat license in this country That is why school buses in this country have hydraulic brakes and not air brakes ,so that the school buse drivers dont have to pass another exam and pay for another license. also with an air brake endorcement one has to be re examined every 5 years i believe. In the Netherlands your laws are probably different and you will have to comply with that LAW. You Indicate that a non-trucking license{max 3,500 kilograms/7700 lbs.Did you ask about a motorhome or ask someone that owns a motorhome .Other than that you are going to have to comply with the laws of your country and get yourself a trucking license that will alow you to drive a vehicle that weighs more than 7,700 lbs.PS I dont make the LAWS I just follow them

ITS YOUR DREAM HAVE IT YOUR WAY

The Max load GVWR for a 24 foot is 11,800 pounds front GAWR 4300 Rear GAWR 7500.Front curb wt is 3600 lb and rear curb wt is 5400 front passenger load 700 lb rear passenger load 2100 lb
Anyway you cut it looks like if you live in the Netherlands you are going to have to bite the bullet and get yourself a truckers license sorry

Wow, thanks a lot for the information, it's very helpful! As you say, it indicates that I need a trucking license here in my country. Funny enough the 26 thus has a lower curb weight than the 24, any idea why that is?
Might just go for the license, always wanted to drive trucks anyway... And find me decent 24 or 26 Argosy to ship here. I'm really amazed by the prices I see advertised: you couldn't get scrap for that kind of money over here! I'm sure it will even B good investment with all the extra costs of shipping, certification, import tax and my license! And Airstreams are scarse here, even more so than in the US or Canada.
So, thanks again and enjoy your 26; can't help being little envious (is that correct english? I mean like jealous)!!

Here is the way i see it MAX total curb weight for a 24 foot is 8247 lb.Total curb weight for a 26 footer is 9094 lb,Both are on a P30 chassie with the same engine and transmission same front end and rear end 7500 lbrear and 5000 lb front. The 26 footer being 2 foot longer in every respect weighs 847 lb difference BUT the ballancing point is further back from center in respect to a 24 footers ballancing point therefore the curb weight is less.Does that make sence. The front curb weight is less but the rear curb weight is more.
