Argosy windshields they are in other vehicles eh? Airstream, GMC something maybe?
So I was out and about yesterday and I saw two old GMC RVs and they look like they have the same windshields as my argosy. Not sure though. If that is the case is it possible they still sell the gaskets?

Well they sell the windshield still but I don't think they sell the rest of it. I emailed them and they asked for my vin then never responded. I'll have to check again. Its going to cost around 2k for new glass if I go through airstream. I have requested quotes from a few other RV windshield places to see if I can do better. These windshields are cracked and I'm worried it was from stress. Owner said it happened while parked but should I think about bracing the rv and possibly welding in brackets to reduce flex?

You're not the only one that has noticed the similarities between the GMC windshields and Argosy/Airstream models. The only way to know for certain would be to compare part numbers between GMC and Airstream.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit to find out that Airstream used the GMC glass.

It's been widely reported that the windshield gaskets are still available. I know Martin replaced his within the last 2 years or so and I believe Tap just recently had his replaced.
As far as trying to stiffen the chassis, I wouldn't even consider the idea. I have not heard of anyone complaining of their windshields cracking from just sitting or even while driving.

I'm tempted to ask the guy that owns it if I can take a bunch of measurements to see how they compare. I feel like the GMC glass might be a little cheaper.
BTW you guys are correct. I read a few threads that said they were NLA but I did get a quote back with 900 each for the windshields and then 385 for the rubber plus shipping. Ouch.

Sorry, I thought you meant the side cockpit windows.

You might try these folk for the gaskets.
http://www.crlaurence.com/crlapps/sh...h=30587::19748
Also, have you tried that fella in Galveston who was parting out a Motorhome. I have a cockpit window there! It was cheap and I need someone to save it from the skip.
I have contact details if you need them.
Also, try these guys who do both GMC and Airstream and look like they know their stuff http://www.gmccoop.com/

Thanks I actually had already emailed the gmccoop site about this since they had gmc and argosy restos on their site. I would LOVE to have a galveston contact. I'm in Baytown and that is quite close. I was thinking about taking a road trip to Maine to grab one from a guy that is trying to scrap an entire MH. I'd come back with a truck load of stuff and scrap the rest.

I know Peter H has already posted links to a flock window channel (thanks Peter). I have purchased that one and assume it is correct.
However, if people ever needed a source for other channels e.g. side windows, this company http://www.jjautofabrics.com/all-rubber-channels/ look to have an excellent range.

Jjona5. Any luck on the windshield? Did you find out if the gmc is the same?
