Argosy Motorhome Floor Removal
We've been searching all the posts regarding replacing floors but have only seen info regarding trailers. Does anyone know if the wall to floor construction of the motorhomes is the same as the trailer? I can't find anyone who has removed the floor from the c channel. Are there bolts holding the floor to the walls? Any help would be appreciated!

We have pulled away part of the wall and believe we have found bolts running into the floor. So far, we can't tell whether there are nuts on the other end of them. As of now, we have the furniture, kitchen counter, and appliances completely removed, the radiator out being re-cored, and the battery system out for a re-work.

Sorry I can't help you with floor replacement info. Sure would like to see pictures of your progress though. I think you'll find replacing the floor is a pretty tough job.
Good luck!

I replaced some rotted sections, had to dig the wood out of the C chanel with a drill bit and screwdriver. The Floor bolts are big pop rivets drill them out and cut them off, with a grinder, when the wood is off. I notched the new plywood to fit around the bolts in the C chanel.Worked for me.Good luck

I'll post some pics of our progress shortly. We've been delayed a little bit. We just traveled from Indy to just north of Sandusky OH to bring back a 72 Argosy 20 TT. We're not going to start that one 'till the motorhome is done. We went for our entire lives without an RV, now we have 2!
The floor in the motorhome is replaced about half way back. We went with a 5/8" thickness for added strength. I've been using the old floor sections for templates when cutting the new boards. Once the panel was cut, I routed out the edge to fit under the c channel. I've encountered bolts, rivets, screws and wires all passing through or running into the floor boards. I also replaced the vent hoses for the fuel tank while I had easy access to the top (through the aluminum belly pan). I sealed it back up and riveted it with an aluminum patch panel when I was done. We're about to remove the furnace and bedroom walls (bulkheads?).
Hello,
I just bought my 76 Argosy and would like to know if you have any pictures of before during and on going? Please I bought this RV and need to get it up and safe in about 2 months. Would like to take it to Mt Rushmore by the end of june.
