Argosy 20' Moho

Hi, All.
On my way home today I spotted this Argosy in the just delivered section of a local junkyard. This was the 1st bad sign. I stopped and wandered back to it. I checked the door it was unlocked. Went in and saw that the dash was scorched very badly. 2nd bad sign. I checked with the owner of the yard and found out that this units time is very very short. This Argosy could be a very good project for someone with the time and knowledge, and money. I would hate to think that this old unit could meet its end for the price of scrap.
Overall the body looked pretty good. The dash is wasted, both sides of the windshield are broken but there. It has a Coleman AC on top, the generator looks clean. The interior has smoke damage but really is'nt all that bad considering.
I just feel that this old thing needs another chance. I would never be able to forget it if I did not at least get the word out about it.
Again this would be a major project with a diamond in the rough outcome for the right person.

A little more info for clarity. This unit obviously suffered a dashboard or engine fire my guess is dashboard. the wireing is very damaged, as is the plastic of the front grill area. I do not have the knowhow to rewire a project like this. Sorry I dont have pics. This unit is at a junkyard in Elyria, Ohio In the North central part of the state. Again unless someone does something it may only have a few days. I tried to impress upon the owner of the yard the possible interest from people in the Airstream community. That is why I am
putting the word out. Feel free to P.M. me if you are one of those people.
I Think it is a 74 but am not sure. Where are pics of Argosy Moterhomes for I.D. purposes. Thanks Bob
P.S. this unit is a shorty 20ft. I think. This should make it that much more desirable.

Just trying to keep this thread near the top. I did run back out to the junkyard. Took along my camera and got some pics. I spent the last two hours pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to resize those pics. I'm done, no luck, I must be stupid or something. I have no hair left.

Not stupid...just not the right tools. Check out this thread for a couple of tips.

I understand the bald look is in style these days...looks like an Airstream!

If you're using a Windows machine you can do it with Paint. Open the file in Paint and under edit there should be an option for strech and skew. Stretch horizontally and vertically by the same amount. Try 50% for starters, save the file and see how big it is. You can do it multiple times until you see how much scaling you need. So, if you had to scale it 50% twice just enter 25% for the next photo.

Wow, I would LOVE a 20ft MH. I was parked next to one at RMVAC rally a couple years ago. It was adorable!

Rewiring it can't be all that bad, surely it's not a goner. Too bad it's so far away!

Not that I could get away to get it, what did the owner of the salvage yard say he wanted for it?

Thanks for the encouragement. I will try the pics again later when I have more time. Terry, the guy told me that he would truck it to my house just down the road a mile or two for free, and he only asks 550 bucks for "Shorty". That's my nickname for it because of it's size and time left. It will be a salvage title situation.

Oh come on, someone out that way must have $550 to spend on a little project! I'd drop that in a minute, but for the untold $$$ it would take to get it out to the NW!

Too far for me too, I'd love to park it! Could use a few parts if it was too bad off!

Hi, Stephanie. The logo on the side says it has a 350 in it. I'm trying to get this upload thing down right now with no happiness yet. I will keep working.

If only I had a yard as big as Balargn's I would be on my way out to Ohio. Rewiring the dash is a simple thing to do and I will send all of my help and diagrams to anyone who buys this. Yes, you could pull the Caravel with just a small modification of the hitch.

I'm sure there's room for it on my 3 acres (somewhere the hubby wouldn't notice it) but how would I get a dead MoHo all the way out here?
