I replaced a brake rod boot today.
The original one is ripped.

But I was not able to find replace part, I used a driveshaft boot instead of it.

I needed to connect the boot and a base plate, it has about 2.5" hole so I used an exhaust pipe which is 2.5" O.D.

Just fit!
Then welded it.

The boot's I.D. is about 2.5" and 0.7".

The base plate is on a floor in this picture, however I'm going to install it from underneath the floor. (I made a mistake to installing)

And I made a gas pedal bracket.
The gas pedal needs incline floor but my floor is flat.
I made the bracket it's like a slope.

Lokar pedals are looking cool

We prefer to refer to the condition as sanity challenged.[emoji15]
Brad here is our esteemed leader in this regard; as he purchased a Moho, has put copious amounts of time and money into it, with quite possibly no intention of ever camping in it.[emoji848]

Argosy 20' MH restoration

“Sanity is overrated” when it comes to a bad case of aluminiumitis, which is an incurable condition most of us Airstream lovers have.

Yes, I'm familiar with metric also I can use in inches.
That's not hard to do, only divide by the magic number of "2.54" from the centimeters!
However, fractional inches are difficult for me..

Same for me..... write 1.4375" rather than 1 7/16, not sure if it is the correct name but I call it decimal inches!

Here the magic number appears to be 0.015625 (1/64) because dividing by 0.015625 gives number the number in 1/64th, eg 1.4375/0.015625 = 92/64, or 1 28/64", or 1 7/16". Definitely more of a mental challenge than dividing by 2.54 but possible!

Oh! I understand about fractional inches, thank you!
I'll keep that magic number 0.015625 (1/64) in mind!
However.. I don't like math. That's definitely a mental challenge for me.

Brad's getting a Pied Piper complex.[emoji16] Leading these impressionable young men into aluminitus ruin.

As far as I'm concerned, the both of you are incredibly talented individuals; I'm enjoying the interaction between the both of you immensely. Yuki's a Japanese version of an American Brad; very cool.[emoji41]

Cheers

I have been making a doghouse, then I need to make a transmission cover (bulkhead) as well.
My project won't finish anytime soon..

Yuki,

Hopefully your project won't take as long as mine has.....

Did you consider making a different style of doghouse? Many of us feel the 77 style of doghouse is the worst design they had.

I converted mine from the 74-76 style to the 86 Classic style. I much prefer it over the style you're building.

Brad

Brad,

I'm still thinking about what shape would be better for my doghouse.

I agree with the 77 style is not attractive design.
I like the early style (polyhedral.. It's like a prism gas tank for choppers, I'm not sure ) or the late style (Is that made of fiberglass?) than that.

But, I'm going to use four of hood catches to fix the doghouse cover so it needs flat surface on the each corners.

Eventually my doghouse cover might be similar shape as the 77.
Because complex shape fabrication makes me annoyed.

If it was me I'd remove that structure on top and make something removable of your own design. The polyhedral wouldn't be all that difficult to fabricate. The pictures seem to indicate you have pretty good fabrication skills so put them to work

Brad

I've thought the doghouse design what should I go with.

Finally, I decided to make it similar shape of the 77.

I think it seems like a coffin..
But It's OK, I don't hate this style.

I'm going to use a hood catch like this.
It's why I decided to go with the coffin style, because the hood catch needs flat surface on its mounting.

The hood catches will mount to four of corners on the doghouse cover.

Interesting.

What are you going to cover the framework with and how heavy will the assembly be?

What about lifting handles?
