Yuki, the light listed in the Ebay auction is a genuine NOS GM replacement light. Order it if you can.

I like the word "NOS", those are probabuly rare parts!
Definitely I would have bought it, if I didn't get the reproduction parts yet..
However, in actual fact many seller do not ship goods to Japan.

I've bought NOS parts before which is for Yamaha motorcycle with ebay. They couldn't send it to Japan, so I decided to send to uncle place.
He lives in Texas, usually comes back to Japan in every summer. So if I do same deal, I can get it next summer!

Anyway, I'll go with the Mexican ones.
If it did not fit on Argosy, I'll change the plan.

Thank you for the information again.
I appreciate it.

Today's accomplishment is very big event.
I removed an engine from Argosy.
I've never thought I’d remove a V8 engine by myself.
Fortunately I have an engine crane and stand.
But those are for my little Datsun, it has a small 4 cylinders engine.

The V8 is leaking engine oil so I have to repair that.
So I decided what I did.
I guess the oil leaks from a rear main seal or oil pan but I'm not sure.. anyway, I'll check it soon.

My engine crane is too high for the Argosy..

I used some concrete blocks under the tires and rigid racks.

The crane has a hook, but the engine bay is very tight, it doesn't have enough height so I use a shackle instead of the hook.

Many bolts obstructed to lift the engine.
I cut it off!!

That worked well.

This is an obstacle sub-frame.
I removed its rivets and took off the frame.

Umm... it's too tight.
I tilted the engine then pulled and lifted it.

I did it!
My dirty engine has pulled out!
I'm very surprised the engine was removed easily

I'm going to clean and paint it, and replace some gaskets and seals.

To be continued..

Do everything you can on the cooling system, while it is out, you save a lot of grief later.

Yes! I'm going to replace water hoses, pump, thermostat and re-core the original radiator!
Moreover, I add engine and trans oil coolers.

I'll go gambling that use an electrical fan instead of the mechanical one.

My Datsun got a big motor!
Because I didn't have engine stand bolts..
So I've put the engine temporary on the tray.

The engine stand bolts have arrived, I put the engine on the stand.

But.... the engine stand is very weak, because I bought it for my little 1500cc Datsun engine.
It tilted when the engine crane left.
And it couldn't turn over the engine.
Maybe it'd be able to hold the engine, but I decided to use the crane for supporting. Because I'm a coward.

Anyway, I had to clean and paint the engine. It's very dirty!
Removed old paint and dirt, then detached an intake manifold.

Many how-to videos recommended to use RTV with gaskets. So I did that.

I trial fitted many parts that go with the engine.
I can't wait to install it to the Argosy!

Replaced a rear main seal.

The engine was wet by oil where is the part of rear end.
So I'm doubting to leak from a rear main seal.
So I checked that.

There's dry, the seal would be OK.
Maybe the oil leaked from an oil pan gasket.
However, I replaced the seal. It means "preventive measure"

The first, I removed an oil pump.
Yeah, the oil pump shaft sleeve was broken.

But it's OK. I've bought a new one already.

Then removed a rear main cap.

I could see an oil seal.

I hit the seal with a pin punch.
It's turning and came out.

I installed the new one with plastic tool.
The tool protects the edge of seal.
I've finished the part of upper side.

The lower side, I removed a seal from a rear main cap.

Then I installed a new one.
I offset its parting line about 3/8" from the cap/block parting line.

The last thing, I pray it wouldn't leak the oil from there.

Install a harmonic damper with an installer tool.

I hold the tool and tighten the nut, then the harmonic damper was installed little by little.
I had to tighten up the nut strongly. However, I've done to install it.

But my engine stand has broken.. when I tighten the nut with power!
I'm going to repair that, because my little Datsun engine is staying on a wood pallet now.

I marked the point of 15 degrees BTDC on the harmonic damper.
I'm going to control ignition timings with Atomic EFI, it needs to be matched the distributor on 15 degrees.

Next, installed a distributor.
I don't need centrifugal timing advance, so remove weights and springs then lock it out.
The Atomic EFI manages ignition timings.

MSD said "it needs an adjustable rotor and set for retard 15 degrees", of course I followed them.
