Gary,

Actually it's complicated that I get some parts from foreign countries.
They said "please return the item" but it's not easy for me.
If I returned it, I need to find the other product. That's not easy as well.

Yes, I sent some pictures to them.
Some pictures help to explain it instead of my poor English.
Anyway, I have to keep on trying hard!

Thank you,
Yuki

John,

Thank you for the more information!
I got the new number of "465387"

Hmm.... OK, my suspicion was incorrect.
PRIOR has never shown the alternate/OEM Part Number(s)
They are unkind..

I got new knowledge of the Hydro-Boost.

Bendix made two types of hydraulic power brake booster which have different back-up pressure source in an accumulator.
Their name is "Hydro-Boost" and "Hydro-Boost II"

"Hydro-Boost" is a spring loaded design which was used from 1974 - 1978.
It has a large spring which to make pressure in an accumulator.

The other is "Hydro-Boost II", it was introduced in 1981.
That have nitrogen gas charged to make pressure instead of the large spring.
This made the assembly more compact and lighter.

"Hydro-Boost II" has blue and yellow(gold) color of the accumulators.
Those have different pressure for brake components (disc/disc or disc/drum).

Anyway, I think my old one is "Hydro-Boost" and the new one is "Hydro-Boost II".
Those have different way to make pressure but function is similar.
Probably I'd be able to use "Hydro-Boost II" for my Argosy, if its dimensions are same.

FOURWHEELER NETWORK said "The hydroboost has a nitrogen-charged accumulator that acts as a back-up pressuresource. The early accumulators used a massive spring to make pressure, but eventually it was discovered that a nitrogen-charged chamber with a floating piston similar to that used in a shock would be sufficient."

<Websites reference> Thanks a lot!

Yuki,

I think we are all learning from your trials getting this figured out.

Yuki, that is incorrect. Yours should be the Hydro-Boost II. The original Hydro-Boost using the spring type accumulator looks like this.

Here's a picture of mine showing that the nitrogen-charged accumulator is not part of the hydroboost unit.

Brad,

Thank you for the correction and information!

I've heard hydro boost has remote accumulator type.
But I've never seen that before!
That has a bigger accumulator than the combined unit.
At least I got more knowledge of Hydro-Boost. Thanks again!

Hmm... the Hydro-Boost is a little bit complex...

I saw these pictures recently, I've thought that the right accumulator is the spring loaded model, the middle and left ones are nitrogen-charged model.
Someone said "the blue one is for disc/disc brakes charged to 450 psi, and the yellow (gold) one for disc/drum at 350 psi."

By the way, the manufacturer (PRIOR Automotive) gave me answer about the schreder valve.
They said "The Schrader valve that is on the booster is installed by us to be able to charge the accumulator"

I removed some old paint with scraper.
It's not fun, but Bahco scraper works great.

Tony,
I was born in 1987, I'm 31.
In other word, I'm 10 years younger than the Argosy.

I’d rather trust the guy trying with the dirty hands and busted knuckles over an armchair quarterback.

Tony,
I believe I have a samurai spirit in my mind.
However, I'm not a rich man, I spent the all of money which I get for the restoration work! So I’m nearly broke..
But It's OK, because I really like argosies and airstreams!

Yuki,

It might not translate well but it can mean someone that second guesses your decision or action or claims usually without having done knowing a better way to do something.

Also used to describe the legions of feverish football fans talking about what usually loosing quarterback should have done to get a touchdown.

Keep getting dirty, real knowledge on these tasks is a big part of the reward.

Gary

Hi Gary,

Thank you for the explanation!
Probably I got it, and I don't want to be that.

Hi Yuki,

Here is another one for you to look up, "Young whippersnapper." I as well as many others can say that about you because we are old.

Keep up the good work.

You need to add "young" Yuki. It's "young whippersnapper" for the best effect.
