'78 Argosy Rear bedroom..

Well.. Had a chance today to look at a '78 Argosy with the double bed in the rear and mid-bath. Definitely not a favorite floor plan for us.. This was the first Argosy we'd actually stepped into and walked around in and for us (a family of 5), it's not big enough.. The small hallway in the rear is just too narrow -- I'm assuming this is probably the same width on all Argosy's?? Are the later 80's Airstream MH's similar or wider? Anyway, I think Argosy's are out for us altogether -- I'm about 6' 2" and I was hitting my head on everything outside of the very center foot of the ceiling or so.. I was still time well spent -- at least I know what doesn't work for us since I've spent a considerable amount of time looking into these models, doing lots of reading,etc..

Anyway, if anyone is looking for such an Argosy in Central California, checkout the SLO.craigslist.org for argosy -- there's only 1 listed currently.

I had a '78 24' Argosy MH and later had an '83 AS 310. Both were the same basic width and height, only the length was different as far as I remember. So, if the Argosy's don't fit in width and height, neither will the AS. At some point AS made a wide body change, but I don't know when that was. late 80's or early 90's maybe.

Ok.. Perhaps it's not meant to be.. Is it safe to assume (it's been a LONG time since I've been in an AS trailer) that the trailers do not have this issue? I just don't recall... Doh!

I was amused to find a lot of plastic panels in this rig -- almost like an airplane on the walls, ceiling, etc.... Unfortunately this particular one had a handful of them with cracks -- perhaps that's about the norm for the age of these rigs..

All the rear bedroom models have a hallway of some kind, going through the bathroom area. The idea is that you won't have people trooping through your bedroom to get to the bathroom.
