FYI - Posting for reference
I've read that that 80's motor homes have a doghouse you can remove. I'm in the process of trying to get the radiator out and changing belts on a '76. Even with the dog door up I could not easily access the belts or anything on the front of the engine. The pictures below document what is required to get the complete door removed. Overall it wasn't that bad. There are 8-10 metal screws that hold the metal door on. Mostly from the outside in. The original carpet has a piece that was made for removal of that area. When I re-carpet the front I will come up with a better design. I plan to install the screws from the inside when I re-install it.
Removal of the door actually makes working on the front on the engine possible.
