75 Argosy 454 Engine AC

Can anyone post pictures of the AC mounts for the A6 compressor used on the Argosy with 454 engine. The previous owner removed and discarded them. Looking for GM part numbers to replace. We have 24" twin.

John

John,

Welcome to Airforums!
The original brackets for 75 were made of cast iron. Below are pictures from Yuki's 77 and Martin's 75.

I'm pretty sure I have a complete set in a box somewhere in my shop. The trick is finding it. I also have a 75 24' Argosy parked behind my shop that has a set that might be available as well.

Brad

Thanks Brad,

I would certainly be interested in getting the parts necessary to reinstall the AC. The only thing he did not remove was the under dash evaporated and such. I am in need of everything else and have been having a heck off a time. Found this forum and glad I did.

Here is an illustration of the air compressor which described in 1974 Chevy Light Truck Service Manual. 1977 service manual has shown same one as well.
However it doesn't say those parts number..

I use those brackets and an A6 compressor on my 1977 Argosy 20.

Hey,
If you can't find the brackets, you can go aftermarket , with a sanden ac setup. I think jets or summit has it. Now it'll be for something like a 70 chevelle, but the 454 was the same. The belts would also be the same. No serpentine belts at that time. You get in the kit, the ac compressed, the mounts. I don't know if you get the hoses and that stuff. It's an option. DJ

My biggest problem with pictures is I have so darn many of them they are getting hard to find when I need look at one!

I remembered where the box of brackets is, up in the barn loft. I'm going to crawl up there this afternoon to dig them out.

Here's what I've got for brackets. Looks like the complete set minutes bolts.

Brad,

I am interested in the brackets I live in Boise Idaho, figure out what you have to have for them and give me a call 412-225-6645 and we can work something out.

Regards,
John

If I can't fix it it isn't broke it is junk.

Brackets

I just have to say what a pain in the ........... Installed the engine brackets for the AC. Pam and I are making progress, really sucky issue with new Dometic 5 cubic ft fridge all installed and doesn't flipping work. Dometic is sending us to factory authorized warranty repair place here in Boise. Have heater, water heater and the majority of the plumbing up and running. Need to replace both of the Thetford valves old cracked and broken. Special thanks to you, I have ordered an received most all of the parts to complete the AC installation. I am sure there are more trials and tribulations to come in our quest. Retirement is only days away 2 months and 10 days to be exact.

Regards,
John

John, with the engine sitting in place that certainly would be a pain!

Like Mike suggested, post some pictures of your doings.....
