No new threads?

I have been working on the Sovereign. Planning for new axles, adding cove base to the bathroom floor to neaten it up, etc. I have been thinking of removing a portion of the "vanity" cabinet across from the current twin bed to add a second twin. That way I can make the front lounge area into a better living area. Any idea about the best way to go about that? I think there is a Sovereign model that has that sort of configeration. Maybe I can find some photos or plans.
cheers, bill b.

Why not find a Sovereign in an RV salvage yard with that bed arrangement, and take it out to install in yours?

bill,
are you referring to the mid twin model? I have a 1975 and a 1980 version of it. What specifically are you looking for? I can email or post scans of the different floor plans from 1975-76 I thought about switching the twin out for the vanity and changing the twin to a pull out double...the 80 is most likely going to get a full custom interior so any and all bets are off on that one at the moment.

More on middle twin

Hi,
I hadn't thought about finding a salvage yard for Airstreams. I guess because here in the Texas Panhandle airstreams are a rare bird. But we do get a lot of traffic going east and west, so I'll do some checking around. Maybe some of the other brand RV places might know of some. Might find something that would save a lot of cutting and building.

If you have some floorplans, for the later model middle twin, I would really like to take a look. It may show any other differences I would encounter. Currently I am thinking if I cut the closet and "vanity" off at the level of the doors in the vanity, I can install a twin bed (above that) that would be about 6 inches higher than the one on the curb side. That would allow us to keep some of our storage space.
cheers, bill b.
