69 Sovereign update for 06

Where are you and what are you doiing for 06? We have this opportunity to chat and we should use it. Taking the Sovereign to AZ in Feb for a few weeks, still working on the water system, got some help coming if it works out I will send a full report. Found some great rivets for fixing the pan, at the Fastenal store. Rivet heads are a full 1" diameter and work well fixing the torn out rivets in the pan, Replaced the refeer with a dorm refeer from Home Depot. It fits perfectly in the same space. It only works on AC, but it really gets cold, and the freezer works great. We freeze water bottles when we are hooked up, put them in the frig while we travel and refreeze them at the next hookup. Check in so we can share info.

We plan for Spring break in central Texas, 60 miles north of Austin. Then, for May, we plan a trip up the middle of the US. We want to spend some time in places we went when we were younger. Like Battle Creek and the Upper Pennsula of Michigan. Over through Northbay Ontario and through upstate New York and parts of New England. We prefer to wander than plan. Mechanically I need to wire in the new electric tongue jack and take a serious look at the rooftop AC. The thing runs, but the fins on the coils are mashed to flinders. Hail storms. We have only had the AS for a short time, made one 5 day trip so far, but are looking forward to travel.

I was told by my dealer that the company that built the air conditioner on the 69 went out of business in 1971. If it is working at all you are very lucky, parts are none existant. If a little tinkering will make it work at all, I say go for it and good luck.

I had a 31 ft sovereign myself ,It was a good trailer for me.I was told the air -conditioner was an Armstrong a/c unit. Its a really good unit. They dont make them like that anymore.
