It's a 72 or 73 Overlander Land Yact International.
I paid $900. Got her on Ebay, sight un-seen...
I find only one spot with rot, it's up at the front, and I assume it's a leaky window, which they seem to have fixed, temporarily at least. I'll fix this with putty, I assume, since it's not more than an inch or so square...
It's got lots of silicone caulk around windows and access doors YIKES!
SOMEONE tried to paint the curb-side of this thing with spray paint. I'll have to fix that too...
The interior is rough... Bathroom is trashed...
Not too interested in "original"... More interested in making it habitable...
Looking for opinions and suggestions...
Thanks!

The price is good. Looks like you have your work cut out for you. What is your serial number? I dont' think that is a 1972 model. It looks like an older unit, as you have some real wood in there. I have a 72' Overlander, and although I don't think Airstream ever made two trailers that were alike, yours is WAY different on the inside than mine.
You have come to the right place for the help necessary to get it roadworthy!
Welcome!

I'm guessing it's a '70...I think that was the only year there were wood base cabinets & tambour uppers. '69s had the vinyl covered hinged doors and '71 went to the laminate base cabinets...
This will be a fun one to watch the transformation...have fun! And don't throw anything away until you've offered it up. One Airstreamer's junk is another's treasure!

Cousin Eddie is my favorite, especially when he shows up standing next to Clark in the frontyard during the Christmas light display in Christmas Vacation.
"Eddie??"

Does the guy want to sell that Chevy pickup that is next to it? Let Me know....
Dunno... Email me with your phone number and I'll drop a note on his windshield, plus leave it with the people who run the storage facility in case they talk to him soon...
How about the terrible bathroom?? What model years could I pull a bathroom from and have it fit this one? He said the plumbing had to be accessed, so they ripped the bathroom walls out??
Or should I just put my framing skills to work and build new walls where they are missing back there, with melamine panels?
Also, no gray or black tank in this beast. There never was one, right? AND, that toilet flange isn't the right one, is it? Will it work for the portapotty that's sitting in there with a wax ring?
Title says 72, owners manual was for a 73. hmmm... The serial number is a little hard to read since someone put that gawd-awful paint stripe around the trailer and covered the serial... I can see enough of it to decipher probably... Will look next time I am out there...

Well, if you can read the serial number...post it here & someone will decipher it for you ~
Check this '70 Sovereign out...other than it being a twin model & yours being a double, they seem to have a lot in common...
Shari
P.S. Or better yet...this '70 Overlander...it's a reversed layout (CA vs OH thing) & a twin model vs yours being a double, but they seem to have even more in common...

That bathroom layout is identical to our 1970 Overlander. Even the plumbing under the toilet.
I think that it might be the sovereign, as it has one to many windows streetside for the Overlander.
Good luck! It's a testament to the quality of these trailers that you can take something that's 35 years old and been badly neglected and recreate a thing of beauty.

Ken.
That would be strange... It's got Overlander, International, and Land Yact badges all over it. Gotta go look at the s/n#... Would be nice to know for sure what this thing is.
