Important safety tip: DON'T wash it. If you do, you'll have the cleanest orange and white flag...

Thanks! I've gotten that tip from someone with experience. I did consider a light cleaning, but decided against that too.

flag to the highest bidder. I should somehow come up with a way to auction it in the Argosy Trailer section.

Wow, I totally missed this whilst on vacation over the last couple of weeks. Congrats to both of you (buyer and seller). Seems like a perfect match.
And, welcome to the Overlander club, from another Overlander n00b.

Ready for PEI
Well the Overlander formerly known as Toastie's Older Brother has started it's long trek to become mine. It has had a sex change apparently as we refer to it as "her". I've changed the water heater, cleaned and scrubbed the exterior, bought some airstream baby moons and some inexpensive beauty rings, had two more fantastic fans installed (three total) and sunglasses installed. I'll post those photos of water heater install after PEI. Here is a phone picture of her ready to hit the road.
Looks good, huh? I'm very excited.

Man, that was fast! Nice Job.
Did you move the light fixtures or remove them all together?
Check the "trunk" rivets before you go. I lost everything last week towing on a rough road. Opened up, looked back and saw the electric cord draging behind us. Went back to the area later on and found most everything... All repaired, it WON'T happen again.
Good luck on your voyage!

Looks great Skip. I'm glad to see your taking her out so soon....I seem to be dragging my heels with mine. Wasn't there an awning on that rig?

Very nice, I feel better now!
Wired in a new shore power plug yesterday. Original cord got pretty beat up...

After I got mine at West Marine I noticed the chrome one was cheaper at Vintage Trailer Supply!

I got my 3 on eBay! I think I paid between $49 and $79 for each. The TV one is a little cheaper, if you want to fabricate an outlet (see pic). The actual outlet came from McMaster.

Hey JP,
What did you make the 110VAC outlet out of-- did you convert a TV/phone one, or an RV 30A power one?
Thanks!

OOHHH!!!! Forgot to tell you .....
that one leak was the connection to the mysterious water valve. It tee'd off from just behind the shower head connection. THere was a compression connection there that slid right off witout any effort. I was just barely able to fit my paws in there to clean the pipe and solder a cap on. The rest of the kitchen plumbing will stay for now. Most of the rear plumbing I removed and am redoing. I removed the pressure regulator. I'll use the simple little disposable unit with the gauge that I attach to the spigot at the campground.

Ahhhhhhh That is the second fitting that was loose then. Long story on the PO that did the plumbing, don't think poorly of him...

No complaining. Just working on a 35 year old trailer and describing what I find.
Good thing I like to putter.
while waiting on parts I'll be on the Argy black tank valve. We might need to take it to Fisherman's.

Old trailers are always having things showing up
Scatter Bug had three propane leaks during the Maritime Discover Caravan and R1R. We will be replacing all the propane hoses, pipes and fittings at the front of the trailer asap as we found many sub-standard repairs had been made over the years and only by the grace of the Airstream gods did she not have a propane disaster. I will not even start with the wiring issues Leon has uncovered in Scatter Bug, what a yucky mess Leon has to clean up.

I gutted a TV one. They were cheaper on eBay than the 30A inlets. The plug came from mcmaster, and the aluminum.. well, I have tons of tiny scraps laying around!
Speaking of ebay, here's 3 30A inlets for $25!! I know it won't go for that... hurry up, though! it ends in 23 hours! Sure beats $100 a piece!
