Kitchen table leg

In my New 72 land yacht the kitchen table has one leg that supports it. The leg folds out and latches open. My question is there supposed to be latch to secure it when folding the table back the wall? My leg just dangles and you have to hold it up to close the tabe.

It's a minor problem just a little annoying. Other than the leg the AS is in almost perfect condition. Not bad for 47 yrs! Thks
