Has any one ever had to adjust either of the 2 doors?
I put new gaskets on the screen door and things got a little tight.
The main door is off as well. I will try to post picks tomorrow.
I'm not having any luck on searching as to what to do.
Just another issue of owning a AS LOL..

Adjusted our door loosely based on this video. Didn't take too much force or skill, I regret waiting months to do it. I also find that not over tightening the stabilizer jacks helps the door latch operation. When we got our new-to-us 2005 Safari, you could see 1/2" gap at the top of the door.

Before you bang on the door, give the new gasket a week to set in.

Did anyone notice in the video the worker measuring on a door. He ran the tape measure over something to take the measurement. That is not the way to take an accurate measurement. Little wonder..................

If your door is also bent and loading the gasket you might look at my method of re contouring the door. My door had blown open while traveling and flattened out a bit.

Do not use the block of wood method as you can easily over correct or crease the door.

I used the block of wood method 7 years ago. Still fits fine. Good method, but is totally dependent on operator skill level. Back in the "good ole days", car doors were adjusted same way. Not necessary anymore.

Thanks everyone for all your great advice. The screen door is a wrap. The main door is still not fixed. I'll post pics tomorrow. Basically as you look at the door from the out side, the door is hitting the shell on the top right when you close it. There is 1 washer in the hinge. I'm guessing that's part of the issue. Is that normal guys and gals?

My 2017 had a 1/4 inch gap at the top of the main door. You could see daylight at the right angle from inside the trailer.

None of this worked and I had to take it to the dealer and they spent almost a month waiting for AS mothership to explain and walk them through how to fix it.

Finally they figured it out. They had to take the door out, redrill the high holes and align the dorr an d bolt it back up. It works great now.

Totally crazy. They said each one is custom made and fitted. And mine was too far out of normal adjustment. They had no clue how to fix it and had to get on conference called with Jackson Center. My confidence was low in their ability to do this, but Si far it has worked out.

I called AS customer service and got a call back from Jon Puckett. He asked if I could send him some pics so I sent him the ones in a prior post.
He and a guy that's been working on airstreams since the Flintstones had square tires came to a conclusion that the pin is bent. He claimed he could see it in the picture. Tells you a lot about my eyes LOL.
He sent me the following link that I found very interesting and you will too. Has anyone put this pin in? He said after the pin is out, look down into the hinge holes from the top and look for wear. Refer to the video for that repair.

P.S. I have never called AS Tech support (877-596-6505) but I couldn't get over how quick Jon returned my call. I mean it took less than a hour.

Listening to the Vintage Airstream Podcast ,the cause can be lack of lube over the years that leeds to the pin moving with the door as its opened and closed thus ovalizing the upper casting of the hinge.

The fix is to drill and tap the upper casting with the door open and using a 1/4" 20 t.p.i. bottoming tap and inserting a 1/4 20 Allen set screw thus pushing the pin back to its original position. Thus moving the door back at the top.

What you say makes sense and probably true. Did you read my post # 17?
Jon from Airstream thought the pin looked bent to him.
Are you saying I should drill out the casting and tap and try that first before filling the top hinge of the door side casting with the Pro Aluminum Melt kit that Jon fro Airstream suggested?

I have a very similar problem. I removed the hinge, knocked out the hinge pin and currently in trusted the fix to a toolmaker and welder at the factory I work at. My hinge pin was not bent, the door side of the hinge is very oval shaped on the top and bottom and even the trailer side of hinge has oversized holes at this point. Not sure if the fix is going to be filling the hole with weld and redrill, or drill the hinge slightly larger and place bushings in the holes.
