1969 Sovereign 31'
Ok, so I may have broken some cardinal rule but I must confess. My 69' did not have any awnings when I rescued it, only the aluminum covers and a few arms dangling. So the other day, my wife show me an add of a wrecked 2000 25' Safari (broke our heart to see it) with CS and Rear awning assemblies. Although the OEM for the 69' is a 21' ZipDee, I was able to successfully install a 18' and change ZipDee with the only modification being 1/4 aluminum L brackets tied into the ribs for proper support. I did end up sacrificing my front CS window shade but still made out with really decent cover. Will post pics soon but I must say, this really is only feasible if you have the interior skins removed unless you add the support to the outside.
