Question Best Tow Vehicle for a 25' 2005 Safari

Hi,
I am new to this website, so I am a little unfamiliar with the forum process. I am looking for the best tow vehicle for my Safari. I have been pulling it with a E150, and with anti-sway bars and load levelors it is doing alright, but I would like to find a SUV that would do the job. Any ideas?

Jim

Re SUV's...
There are Fords, Chevs,Chryslers, Mercedes, VWs, BMWs, Porsches, Toyotas, Nissans etc that will tow your Airstream. What are your preferences, wants, needs, etc?

You are still in a size range that allows for a broad range of tow vehicles. You are also in a weight class that allows liberal use of 1/2 ton vehicles.
My choice would be V8, a minimum of 3:73 Gears in the rear axle, 300+ ftlbs of torque from the engine, 130in wheel base or longer, and a factory tow package to start with.
I am thinking this would be the minimum for towing your Safari any length of time.

From previous postings it seems that the Cadillac Escalade, Nissan Armada would pull my trailer. What Chrysler, Toyota or Mercedes would pull it well? Thanks for all of your help!

this isn't that complicated, but scan a few of the TV threads for what folks use...

or SEARCH using any model/brand name and read the hits.

for example searching with the once popular serbian Y cars yields some very useful threads...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/sear...archid=1822769

FIND the payload/towing capacity, gcwr and so on for any vehicle u might consider...

from any year.

the choices are limitless and vary by personal needs.

TL complies ALL of this data and publishes it annually as a FREE printed insert to the magazine...

they also put this stuff ONLINE going back years...

10 years of tow rating info...

the "tell me what to buy for towing" question can't be answered FOR you.

cheers
