Seems like you were mostly told not to bring much

There are some threads here on the forum with lists of " must " haves.
But yeah, you will discover what YOU need, and some things might not get used very often. You don't need stuff until you do. But here are a few ideas, besides the obvious food, cooking, clothing, hygiene stuff

#1 first aid kit ( I use antibiotic ointment and band aids a lot )
#2 flashlight, candles, garden solar lights
#3 small bucket of tools ( buckets come in handy, I bring multi purpose tools, adjustable wrench
#4 outdoor mat, lawn chairs, cooler ( drinks take up fridge space )
#5 Plumbing-water pressure regulator, hose, latex gloves, tank treatment
#6 Yeah- duct tape, tie wraps, maybe some bundgie cords.
#7 volt meter
#8 chocks, levelers, level, hitch grease and paper towels
# 9 mouse and ant traps

11) nitril gloves to wear when you're dumping tanks
12) hand sanitizer wipes for after dumping the tank

I bring stuff to cook, but also easy food, like chips and salsa, stuff to make sandwiches because we always stop somewhere along the way and make our own lunch.

A pair of clean underwear and a piece of rope will get me through about anything.

I forgot my newest must bring along item

Rubber boots

The morning dew loves to soak my sneakers, and they take forever to dry, then I'm also down a pair of socks. Often the bottom of my pant legs get wet too. The dogs want to walk anywhere but pavement. There is rarely much pavement where I go anyhow.

A dark night....

.......in the campsite needs a headlight.

Great for walk'n the dog after dark.

Indispensable when you have no-one to hold the light on a rainy night looking for the keys that took a hike.

A kneeling pad to use when setting the stabilization jacks and when dumping the combination tank.

A pad and pencil to write down what you need for the next trip. Have fun!
