Unreadable VIN #, 2010 FC. Any Ideas?

Just bought a 2010 Flying Cloud/Bambi.
I tried to register it today in Vermont, but the VIN# stamped on the trailer front (the bars under the propane tanks), was badly stamped and not fully readable. Does anyone know if there is another place to find the VIN number?
Vermont requires a police officer to verify the VIN, and I can't register it if they can't read it.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

My serial numbers are on a plate near the front door, but they are older units. Call Airstream customer service and ask them.

There should be a tag on the exterior with various build info on it.

A trick to read poorly stamped stuff is to put a piece of paper over it, then rub over it with a crayon or the side of the lead on a pencil.

Yes, my serial number is by the door too. I'm talking about the VIN number, it's not the same.

Hi, my serial number is on the street side on an aluminum tag riveted to the body; I believe the newer trailers only have a decal located near your entrance door. [other than the stamp in the frame]

The VIN and the serial number are the same. It should be about 13 digits. The Airstream site has serial numbers here: Airstream, Inc :: 2000's

its confusing to me, the number by the door is much shorter than the VIN, 6 numbers. The Vin on the Airstream title I have is 13 numbers and letters.

If you click on that link you gave me, you'll see the serial numbers are 6 digits long, not the same as the 13 digit VINs.

Hi, your VIN or Serial Number should be like a car, 17 digits long. The 6 numbers are only the sequence.

Thanks, any idea if there is more than one location for this number on the airstream? I know cars have a couple of places.

Hi, this will show your actual serial number, but possibly can't be used for legal purposes. Check the label in your closet door for "Trailer Weight Information".

The serial # is just the last 6 digits of the 17 digit VIN. It is the build "sequence" or "serial". It will start with "1ST........."

On the inside of a cabinet door. My '09 has it on the main wardrobe. A big white sticker.
