Two People in 16' Bambi

My wife and I are considering purchasing a 16' Bambi for part time use. We like it because it can be towed with our Infinity QX60. Our primary concern with the 16' Bambi is the small bed which is only 48 inches wide. I'm curious how other couples manage the sleeping arrangements in the Bambi. Do you use the dinette as a bed? Thanks in advance for any insights.

I'm 6' tall, 190 lbs, and my wife is 5' tall, and 103 lbs and we don't have a problem sleeping together, although we like to sleep close...Since I get up at night to use the bathroom, I sleep on the outer side of the bed...The dinette can also be used if you don't like being so close...Then it's perfect for two people.. I pull it with a Toyota 4Runner and it tows great...The Bambi 16' also forces you to travel light with just the things you need ..

My wife is 5’ tall, I am 6’3”. We ar good in our Bambi for fairly long periods. We did a 4 month lap around the country in 2017 and we still love our Bambi!
There is no question that you have to “take turns” when it comes to doing almost anything but it is an awesome trailer.

Judging you by your username ''Lovecraft''...a 36'' bed would do........ Kidding aside, Welcome to the forum. A twin is 39'' wide, a full 54''. Put a book at 48'' in your bed and see if it's ok.

My wife and I purchased our 16' Bambi in October, we've been on 3 trips and we love it. The wife sleeps on the side closest to the bathroom since she is up more during the night, I can usually sleep right thru without waking up. It is a bit cozy so you definitely have to love the one you're with. Over the holidays we took a trip where we each came down with colds... the second bed came in handy for sure, I slept there a couple of nights with no problem. Since we do most of our cooking and eating outside, the dinette is usually in the lounge configuration so that makes it an easy option. Overall we love our Bambi and wouldn't change it for anything. We think of it as the nicest tent money can buy... its small, its heated, it has a bathroom and the bed is comfy. Enjoy!

Last summer we looked at a 16' and bought the 18' because of the grey water and black water in the same tank requires going to a dump station very often. We completed a 4 mth road trip and in month 3 we traded the 18' in for a 27' Globetrotter. Mostly because of cooking space but the sleeping arrangement was beginning to be difficult too. We are now very very happy with the 27'. It made a world of difference even though we thought we were mostly content with thew 18'. We tow with a QX80 and that works beautifully. The issue with towing with an SUV is the tug weight. It can be difficult to find out what the tug weight is. I could be a wrong but I thought the tug weight on the QX60 did not work for the 16'.

16' Bambi for two

We find the bed a little tight and the width, but the length is great and we sleep with our 85 lb lab in the bed as well.

We love the size of the 16' Bambi for towing, parking and getting into smaller campsites.

Before our 27FB, we had a 19' and I believe the bed is the same width. That one was actually a bit of a pain to climb in and out of, but when lounging, resting, or sleeping, the width was perfectly fine. We actually sometimes talk about how it was more "cozy" in the smaller trailer. Oh, and I'm 6'2" 230# and he's 5'8" 180#, so we are two guys and not small by any stretch of the imagination!

We have 16’ my wife sleeps in the bed and I sleep on the dinette fold away. I had fitted sheets made for the dinette fitted bottom sheet, top sheet and two pillowcases I think it was around $100.00. The 19’ bed is the same width, I think they are not manufacturing that model any longer. I like the 16’ fits just about anywhere. People in our local WBCCI Chapter are surprised as all it has to offer. Wet bath works, it’s a mindset in my opinion, eyerbody I am sure will have rather strong opinions here, very personal.

You would be better off with a 17' Casita Liberty Deluxe.
It has a King size bed larger kitchen and a great large wet bath.
It also has separate black and gray tanks.
The two we had both weighed 3250# loaded on the road.

I’m sure the 22’ Sport would tow perfectly well with the QX60, and it offers a good bit more bed and an actual shower.

Two in a 16 will work fine.

Just have to be polite.

We no longer have our 16, but I still miss sleeping in that bed. It was like camping in a tent, but quieter and more comfortable (and a much shorter walk to the john).

Many if not most of the trailers with so-called double are only 48 inches despite being longer. The Bambi design doesn't allow for extending the width of the bed unfortunately. I did that on my 25 rear Bedroom
I agree with SilverHouseDreams; The Infinity will have no problem towing a 22 if you are able to afford the larger unit. The 16 Bambi is likely a bit more difficult to back up due to short wheel base so handling is really not an issue with a longer trailer

can't imagine anything worse than a tiny bed for two, but some are fine cuddling all night. My wife likes a very hot sleeping environment, I like very cool! we have two beds at home and like two beds in the camper! She can sweat all night, while I can get my nice cool night of deep sleep

That is why I bought 2 Casitas 1 a '99 freedom Deluxe the next a '04 Liberty Deluxe instead of a Bambi . Those were replaced with a '69 Airstream Tradewind that I rebuilt and will have a King Bed. Currently it has twins and a full size bed.

I mean as large as the Airstream is why do so many models have only a 48" wide bed ?
The 17' Casitas have 2 floor plans with a 56" wide bed and another with a 77" wide bed and yet another with twin beds.

I offered the Casita as a viable alternative to the Bambi , He may not know about them. http://www.casitatraveltrailers.com
