I have a 2018 sport 16 and it has the fan switch on the side of refer. It goes on when refer coils hit a certain temp. Countertop above refer still get warm but no where close to hot. Seems like the fan is a good thing to have.

It maybe normal in the sport 16 but it is definitely not the way it should be. The hot counter top means that hot air that should be exhausted is getting trapped in dead space leading to a much less efficient fridge.
Do what Wanna? did and add a baffle on top. You can seal up the sides around the fridge with some aluminum duct tape.
I did the same and the counter was never the slightest bit warm again.

I’d send pictures but I no longer have the sport.
