Storage under dinette & water connections. Sport 22FB

The storage hatches under the cushions at dinette area I had 2 of them collapse. The 1x2 they glued stapled and screwed to hold up the cover, the glue didn't hold.
I removed them and used gorilla glue and clamped & re-screwed them into place. I've been a little disappointed with some of the quality in this trailer compared to others I've owned. Also all the connections to the faucets were loose. The one in the kitchen was leaking but I caught it right away. Have any others had these problems?

We also experienced the same problem with the storage covers under the dinette cushions. It took 3 trips in for them to finally get the repair done correctly.

I had the same problem with my new 2014. I had owned a bunch of old sailboats, and I just did with the new trailer what I did with the boats. Fixed it myself. No big deal.

I don't disagree with the complaint about quality. For trailers that are so well built, some of it's not very well built. Oh well. Still better than the competition.

We've been very lucky with our 2014. Very few issues, and those we had the factory took care of right away. I suppose that's one of the advantages of living 2 1/2 hours from the "Mother Ship."

We had the same problem so I cut some thin plywood to cover the storage hatches. This distributes the weight better. Camper Clinic repaired the broken one but I continue to use the plywood since the design is so weak and my in laws are heavy.

I haven't had a problem with the hatches collapsing... but we did have an uncomfortable dinette-bed due to the difference in height between the seats and the table when it's down for a bed.
I saw the other forum-participants solution of plywood cut to shape and laid upon the seats with cutouts for the storage-doors..... but I hate the addt'l weight involved with plywood....Plywood is HEAVY....
... I went to H.F. and bought their interlocking rubber floormats used for workshop/bench mats and cut them to shape, Much lighter, and two layers matched up the seats to the table. We plan to leave them in situ, even when converted back to dinette.... Works great and light and cheap, also.

We had one of the supports collapse this weekend. It is the front support for the seat that is by the door. It doesn't seem to be supported very well from underneath.

How have others fixed this problem?

We don't own a bunch of power tools, but can follow directions very well. Can anyone tell me how they have repaired /reinforced this area that is under the storage covers on the 22 sport dinette?

We will be repairing ourselves.

We can get any additional wood needed cut to size at our local Lowes if necessary.

We do have a drill, and other basic tools.

Would love pictures, or a sketch posted as a picture if you can't get to your trailer.

I am very visual.

I used screws from above to fasten the 1x2's in place. Since the cushion covers are not reversible top to bottom I didn't worry about a bit of marring of the cushions. May cover screw heads with tape.

We are not heading out again until Labor Day. This gives me time for a work weekend.

Other than this, we really like the 22 and its layout and storage.

We did the repair with screwing from the top today.

We added glue to the one board that had come loose. We added screws from the top on the other ones since we had all the tools out. We covered up the screw heads with black electrical tape, which seemed to work well. Did 2 layers in an "X".
